Power (力, onyomi: Ryoku/Riki, lit. Power/Strength) is a character category introduced in the Warriors Orochi series and represented by the color red. By pressing the R1 button, the player can sacrifice a hefty amount of the character's Musou to perform a powerful special attack (必殺技, Hissatsu Waza, lit. Special Art/Certain Finishing Art), receive a temporary buff, or even both. Their special attacks are usually quite damaging and often come with limited invulnerability while being executed, but they usually use the most amount of musou in one go compared to the other character types.
In the first game, characters who use their R1 special will cause the screen to radiate red light with yellow lightning effects from the character themselves, along with a variation the classic Musou attack sound effect. The sequel tones these effects down, mainly by omitting the red light and yellow lightning effects.
Characters in this class via the Hyper Armor function (ハイパーアーマー, Haipā Āmā) usually will not be interrupted while attacking unless they are hit by powerful attacks, or when facing stronger-ranked enemies. If two or more of these character types perform a Musou Chain together, the next one will automatically activate the Multi attribute.
In the third game, this character type has changed the least. The altered Musou attack sound effect is now shared by all character types' R1 specials.
