Sooga is a non-playable character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, an original character who draws inspiration from Lu Bu. The leading figure and devoted soldier of the Yiga Clan, he tends to the pressing organizational duties of his clan in Master Kohga's stead.
Role in Games
Sooga first appears in the scenario "Urbosa, The Gerudo Chief", rescuing Master Kohga and fleeing with him when his attempts to turn Zelda's party and the Gerudo forces against one another and then to destroy both sides fail.
After the scenario, Sooga is present with Kohga when the two form a pact with Astor. In "The Yiga Clan Attacks", Sooga then leads an attack on Hyrule Castle Town with the intent of killing Zelda. Sooga nearly suceeds, only for Link to block his kunai with his shield, causing Sooga to issue a retreat.
Sooga reappears at Akkala Citadel, attempting to keep Link's company from activating Akkala Tower. Once again, however, he fails to stop them.
Sooga's next appearance is at the Yiga Clan Hideout. Once Master Kogha has sustained enough damage, a weakened Sooga appears to fight alongside his master. However, the two are defeated once again and flee.
Sooga's last appearance in the main story is when Astor turns on the Yiga Clan and harvests their minions' souls. When Astor summons a Hollow of Link to kill the two leaders, Sooga fights it to allow Kohga to escape. When he instead chooses to stay with his "best lackey", the two fight alongside each other, Sooga presumably sacrificing himself to allow Kohga and the remnants of the Yiga Clan to escape with their lives. The Yiga Clan would then join the rest of Hyrule in avenging the death of their comrades.
