Revali is a playable character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. A gifted archer who has mastered an aerial move previously thought impossible. While boastful, he has the skills to back up his claims. Now, he is entrusted with piloting Divine Beast Vah Medoh.
Role in Games
Prior to the events of the game, Revali lived in Rito Village with his kin as their greatest warrior. While protecting his home from monsters including Harbinger Ganon, a corrupted version of Terrako, Revali and his army grew paranoid of another attack from them and have since been on high alert for any Guardian activity. Once he learned that a little guardian is scouting the area with Link, Impa, and Princess Zelda, Revali gave them an unwarm welcome when they came to recruit him, as he assumed them to be in league with the monsters, since Terrako looked strikingly similar to Harbinger Ganon, and took great measures to keep them away from the village by having his troops deal with them. Once Link managed to breach all of the defenses, Revali confronts the Hylian himself and and the fight ensued and Revali is eventually hurled against the gate, but he is unfazed by the impact and soon soars high into the blizzard to make it harder for Link to see him and attempts to hit him with his talons, but the Hylian blocked the attack and after a while, he flips upside down and readies his bow, declaring himself better than him. Before any of them could kill each other, Zelda broke the duel between him, and Link and the latter hits the arrow away and the snowstorm ended. Revali explains the recent attacks against his village involving Terrako's counterpart, whom he mistook for the attacker, which was why they were hostile towards them. He then decides to join their party as the Rito Champion and the pilot of the Divine Beast Vah Medoh, while bragging that he is more experienced than Link, while a bit taken aback when Terrako declares itself a knight as well, he just scoffs it off, declaring them ridiculous.
Princess Zelda brings the Champions through Castle Town to help calibrate the Divine Beasts for them, but they are ambushed by the second in-command Sooga, the Yiga, and Ganon's monsters. Link takes Zelda and retreats while Revali and the other Champions fight off the enemy with the support of their own troops and the Hylian Captains, but the Hinox they fought with in the enemy stronghold was a decoy to allow an opening for Sooga to ambush Link and Zelda, but Link stops him from killing Zelda, forcing Sooga to call a retreat.
With all the Champions recruited, Revali's resentment grows when they arrive at the Korok Forest, picking on Link about him failing and dubbing him a "fallen knight", before being scolded by Urbosa for his behavior. Revali does that before summoning Divine Beast Vah Medoh to take out several giant monsters that besiege the forest, so the group can get into Korok Forest. While there, Mipha comments on the fog that made it harder for them to see, which an irritated Revali rants about the fact that they are probably going in circles before Daruk tells him to fly above and scout the area; Revali promptly calls him out for acting before thinking and the group soon encounters Hestu, who offers to help them them out though he admits he has trouble getting home himself. Revali suggests that he would get around more safely if he didn’t carry his maracas around, but Urbosa tells Hestu not to mind him and offers their assistance, making Hestu happy. They start to notice the strange appearance of Malice when the Great Calamity has not yet taken place, Link and Zelda are suddenly attacked by Astor and his Malice-born copies of Revali, Mipha, Daruk, and Urbosa, known as Hollows. They attempt to take Zelda's life before Link dispels them with the light from the Master Sword, which replaced his broken standard sword. Astor is forced to retreat, seeing that he does not stand a chance against its powerful light, and everyone then had a short meeting with the Great Deku Tree.
Despite some interference along the road to Hyrule Castle, Revali and his companions are dubbed the official Champions, and they are given the Champion of Hyrule attire. The Rito swapped out his scarf with the Rito insignia on it with his blue scarf. After their inauguration, they decide to rest for a while until Terrako starts picking fights with Impa who starts chasing it around and the Guardian tries to get Revali involved, but he becomes furious and demands that they take their scuffle somewhere else, but eventually had enough of being hassled by the two and takes his leave by flying off, voicing his disgust with "How asinine!". Revali and the other three Champions eventually return home to prepare for the worst that is to come. At the same time, King Rhoam learns that the Great Calamity will happen on Zelda's 17th birthday, and issues evacuation orders to his people and the surrounding communities to prevent vast casualties. Soldiers are set to defend Akkala Citadel and Fort Hateno to reinforce garrisons, as the fall of these strongholds is sure to bring about Hyrule's fall as well.
As fortold, Calamity Ganon returns, starting with Robbie and Purah and their staff taken hostage by the Yiga Clan members and Purah tosses the Sheikah Slate to Terrako and tells it to flee. After Terrako arrives at Hyrule Castle when Link, Impa, and Princess Zelda are about to travel to Mount Lanayru as the latter's last chance to unlock her dormant sealing power. At this moment Calamity Ganon's seal finally breaks and Malice surrounds the Hyrule Castle. Revali is at the Sheikah Tower when he witnesses the beginning of the Great Calamity, he is horrified and notices that the warp point is flickering before it is shut down, with the others doing the same. This cuts them off from each other, leaving him and the other Champions to fend for themselves, and no other choice but to board their Divine Beasts to help Link and the others, as this is their role. King Rhoam and his Royal Guard stay behind and supposedly lost their lives as Link, Impa, Terrako, and Princess Zelda flee the scene. Meanwhile, Revali finds himself fighting against Windblight Ganon and while he fared well at first, he is soon at the Blight's mercy when his left wing is struck and the Rito lost control of his flight. Windblight points its weapons at Revali, who could only watch helplessly before a time portal, created by Terrako through Zelda's despair, appears and Teba, who came from 100 years in the future, opens fire on the demon with arrows, throwing its aim off course, and the other future Champions, Riju, an adult Sidon, and Yunobo do a similar favor for Urbosa, Mipha, and Daruk respectively. This allows Revali to get revenge and opened fire from above, only for Windblight to deflect it. Teba's intervention allowed Revali to hold his own much longer, and while they were fighting a losing battle, it brought enough time for Link to back them up by forcing the entity to retreat for a time, and Revali was able to take back control of Vah Medoh. Revali only expresses a little gratitude in a contemptuous tone, surprising Teba, who was about to comment on his rudeness before Urbosa tells him to hold that thought before asking Princess Zelda about Hyrule Castle's fate. Revali and Teba work together to take out the outposts in the Hebra Region, defending each other from aerial enemies and Windblight returns in a last-ditch effort to kill both of them, but is destroyed by their efforts.
With the four Champions rescued from their grim fates, Link and the warriors turn their attention to Akkala Citadel and Fort Hateno, which in the latter case, he and Teba, along with Mipha, Sidon, Daruk, and Yunobo back up Riju and Urbosa with their freed Divine Beasts. Purah activates a failsafe, which wipes out most of the corrupted Guardians, destroying the main part of Calamity Ganon's army, leaving only a few reinforcements, turning the tides in Hyrule's favor.
In the Guardian of Remembrance DLC, Revali caught sight of a young Rito child wandering in the forest that he is unfamiliar with and quickly loses track of him. Concerned, he tells Teba about the child which had him worried and implores him to come along and Revali agrees to, despite being a bit hesitant over Teba's state of anxiety. Upon arrival, Teba begins asking questions about the child and Revali tells him that he as the same white colored feathers as him and he hasn't seen him before. As they searched the forest, the child turns up with Teba immediately recognizing him as his only son, Tulin who explains that he was surprised that he ended up in the forest and was cared for by the "tiny creatures". Teba is uncomfortable with the idea of leaving Tulin out on his own and a Rito Captain volunteers to protect him. Teba introduces Tulin to Revali, with the latter figuring that both of them traveled back in time. Tulin mistakes Revali for another Rito warrior and tells him that he is skilled just like the Rito Champion, with a shocked Revali correcting him that he is the real deal. As Tulin continues to be awed by Revali's prowess, Revali realizes that he is still worshipped even after a hundred years and interprets that the Rito in the future still have not broken any of his records. When they reached their original destination however, it was found to be a dead end, to Revali's lamentation on not being able to escape without the help of the Koroks, but Tulin happened to be able to read the wind patterns and given knowledge of the secret passageways and guides the adults out of the forest. Teba thanks Revali and the latter insists that he should stop with the over-the-top humility. As they make it back to the entrance, Teba tells Tulin to thank the Rito Champion for saving him and the boy complies and trots in front of Revali and expresses gratitude to him. Revali smiles a bit and replies that he is pretty good for a little kid, which excites Tulin to the extent where he announces his intentions of becoming a warrior like him while jumping up to the nervous Revali's face as he backs away. Tulin also adds that he will also wield the Great Eagle Bow. Revali sighs and tells him that he could have been killed by the monsters that were plaguing the forest and is impressed that he wasn't traumatized by the experience and was still happy. He then adds that it won't be too long before he became the master of the wind just like him. Teba agrees and insists that Tulin must first surpass his own father. Tulin imitates Revali's speaking patterns, prompting a laugh from Teba before he stops himself as Revali looked slightly miffed when he asked if it was meant to sound like him. Seeing the father-son bond and Tulin's enthusiasm and sense of humor was enough to cause Revali's heart to melt and burst into laughter for the first time, to the extent where he had to hold his stomach as Teba, and Tulin join him. After calming down, Tulin attempts to show off his move "Tulin's Tornado", but he soon falls on his back and Teba checks on him in concern while Revali chuckles in amusement while reminding him that he still has a long way to go, affectionately nicknaming him "kid".
Having finally awakened her power necessary to seal Calamity Ganon, Princess Zelda takes command of the surviving army and gives a rallying speech to them. Due to the disturbing fates of his comrades at the hands of Astor, who has them killed and harvested their spirits in order to revive the Blight Ganons due to Terrako's efforts to save Revali, Mipha, Daruk, and Urbosa, thus defying his prophesy; with Sooga's final fate remaining a mystery; a reformed Master Kohga and the surviving Yiga Clan members form an alliance to her and head for the Great Plateau to defend it. Princess Zelda soon discovers that her father and the Guard have survived thanks to the Ancient Guardian Shield which he used to turn the lasers against the corrupted Guardians, buying enough time for the King and his men to escape, and father and daughter reconcile.
They take the battle to Hyrule Castle all of the tribes across Hyrule; Zora, Goron, Rito, Gerudo, Hylian, and even the Yiga Clan take on the remainder of Ganon's army, with Zelda taking the lead with her father and reminds everyone that Hyrule is their home that they must take back and with the army united, they are unstoppable as they attack the outposts. After the monsters holding up Ganon's barrier were taken down, Revali and the Champions open fire on the abomination, though the Blood Moon appears to revive the monsters. Regardless, the Hyrulean forces managed to breach through the castle's defenses.
Revali and Teba led the air force as Zelda leads the ground troops as they charge for the castle. At this point, Astor is clearly becoming increasingly insane and desperate as his prophecy is being averted as he duels with the warriors with Harbinger Ganon at his side, causing Zelda to realize that this Guardian was responsible for its assault on Rito Village earlier and indirectly framing Terrako for it. They defeat Astor and Harbinger Ganon, and the prophet's mind is soon reduced into a feral state, and, in his madness, he orders Ganon to kill them all, but is consumed in the process and Terrako becomes possessed by the Malice during Ganon's transformation, forcing Link and Zelda to fight and damage it to the extent where it couldn't function properly. Crying over the little guardian, she fully recalls her relationship with Terrako from when she assembled it, how it would play her lullaby when she was in emotional turmoil, to the time when King Rhoam eventually took it away from her against her wishes. Revali and the rest of the warriors mourn for the Little Guardian briefly before Princess Zelda angrily swore vengeance on Ganon, declaring that he will fall, and they head up to the Sanctum where the battle begins. At first, they could not harm Calamity Ganon but then Terrako is reactivated by her power and scampers up the stairs and jumps between Zelda and Ganon, where its total destruction broke through the latter's defenses, allowing the warriors to attack and eventually defeat him. Revali tells Link "Don't screw this up!" as Link cleaves Ganon with the Master Sword and Zelda uses her power to seal Ganon away for good. Peace returns to Hyrule, and Sidon, Yunobo, Teba, and Riju say their good-byes to the surviving Champions. Teba still retains respect and admiration for Revali, despite learning of his true personality and he and the future Champions returned to their timeline. Link, Impa, Princess Zelda, and the four Champions happily look on with the hope that their future will be bright.
With Calamity Ganon defeated, Link and all of his friends began to contribute to reconstructing Terrako by searching for its components across Hyrule, battling monsters, and finding all fifty components required for Terrako's completion. They were successful and Terrako is reassembled and brought back to life, bringing much joy to Link and everyone else present; even Revali flashed a warm smile before turning away and Princess Zelda embraces it, crying tears of joy and Terrako plays her lullaby at their reunion. During the credits following Terrako's reconstruction, Terrako can be seen visiting the Champions including Revali, who strokes him and lets him ride on his back as he flies and is seen again with the Champions in the present and future and joins them in a group hug with his friends.
In the secret DLC ending, Revali, Teba, and Tulin spend some time at the Flight Range; Revali has Tulin sleeping on his lap and promptly stops the blanket from blowing away by strong winds, to Teba's amusement. Revali is seen with the other Champions, present and future, as Terrako joins in and entertains them. Revali is seen on the Sheikah Tower with his fellow Champions, who are all back into their original attires indicating that they have all served their duties and returned to their normal lives, as he watches Zelda take off from the tower on a paraglider with Terrako following along and enjoying the scenery as she went. She is happy to see that Hyrule is recovering quite well, and it was well worth their efforts in protecting the kingdom.

Personality
Extremely arrogant and full of pride, Revali comes off as a rather flamboyant bird, who has no trouble speaking his mind, despite his well-intentions and often used them to conceal his insecurities of himself and his own abilities. He also considered Link inferior to himself and expressed some envy that he became the chosen Hero instead of him. But sharing the other Champions’ devotion to stopping Calamity Ganon, Revali gradually puts his vanity aside for the greater good.
Powers and Abilities
Revali's signature move is known as Revali's Gale, which he summons an updraft around himself and soars into the air allowing him to fly anywhere and anytime when he needs to. In Breath of the Wild, he bestows it to Link after he defeats Windblight Ganon, which would allow Link to soar with a paraglider to reach high places quickly and save stamina or avoid unwanted battles with most foes.
His trademark weapon is the Great Eagle Bow, the strongest Rito-made bow. Revali is the only known Rito to wield this powerful weapon, as the other Rito have trouble trying to use it. This implies that Revali has incredible strength, in spite of his light frame.
