Yunobo is a playable character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. A timid Goron who inherited the power of Goron Champion Daruk's Protection ability, he is summoned from 100 years into the future in Breath of the Wild back to the time of the Great Calamity to save Daruk from Fireblight Ganon and keep Divine Beast Vah Rudania under Hyrulean control.
Role In Game
As the Great Calamity breaks out, Daruk is in Vah Rudania struggling against Fireblight Ganon. Though his Protection allows him some degree of defense and being able to fight back, the Shard of Calamity Ganon proves too powerful, breaking Daruk's shield and sending him reeling. Seizing the opportunity, Fireblight Ganon fires a potentially fatal fireball at Daruk, but as Daruk defiantly braces himself for his death, with a shout, Yunobo plunges out of a time portal from 100 years in the future and uses his own version of Daruk's Protection to block the strike, saving Daruk's life, with the latter surprised that Yunobo can also use the same power as him. As the two of them fight off Fireblight Ganon, Yunobo is initially terrified, but with Daruk's reassurance, Yunobo regains his confidence and is ready to fight. Soon enough, they see Link has arrived. Pleased to see him, Daruk draws his sword as he is ready to throw down with Fireblight Ganon again.
After Fireblight Ganon is slain, Daruk thanks both Link and Yunobo for their assistance as, had it not been for them, he would have been a goner. Yunobo is a little sheepish about being a hero in saving his idol, but nevertheless, listens in as the older Prince Sidon explains to everyone about how he and Yunobo were summoned from the future to assist Daruk and Mipha. Daruk laughs it off as they can deal with it later, as their primary objective is what happened at Hyrule Castle as he asks Zelda what happened. Upon learning of the situation, Daruk and Yunobo take Vah Rudania and head for Akkala Citadel to assist. Watching Vah Rudania in action, Yunobo is amazed, but when he tries to call Daruk the "Great Daruk", he reminds Yunobo to cut the formalities. Yunobo apologizes, unsure if he can, but Daruk laughs it off, as right now, Hyrule needs them.
After successfully defending the Citadel and Fort Hateno from Ganon's massive army of monsters and corrupted Guardians, Yunobo and Daruk reinforce Urbosa and Riju with the other Divine Beasts, before all of them are summoned by Purah to unite Hyrule's various races into a single allied coalition to take back Hyrule Castle. Yunobo is impressed by the massive army that includes Gorons, Gerudo, Zoras, Rito, and Sheikah in Master Kohga and the Yiga Clan, and with Zelda leading them, they attack the castle.
After Yunobo and the others break through Ganon's remaining defenses of his most elite monsters and Guardians, they are confronted by Astor and Harbinger Ganon. After besting them both, Astor is then consumed by Harbinger Ganon to allow Calamity Ganon a chance to gain a perfected, physical form. Shortly thereafter, Link is forced to attack Terrako, the small Guardian that summoned Yunobo from the future, after Terrako is corrupted by Ganon's Malice, critically damaging it. Yunobo mourns for Terrako before Zelda, filled with fury and vengeance, declares Calamity Ganon's threat ends now.
Reaching the castle citadel, Calamity Ganon is ready for them, but despite everything that the heroes throw at him, Ganon is invulnerable to everything, until Terrako, despite its condition, runs in and heroically sacrifices itself to self-destruct on Ganon, breaking his defenses and rendering him vulnerable. After he is dealt enough damage by Yunobo and the others, Ganon is cleaved in half by Link with the Master Sword, before Zelda uses her awoken sealing magic to seal him away once more, saving Hyrule from his threat.
With Calamity Ganon gone, the heroes gather on the castle balcony, before the ancient screw Zelda salvaged after Terrako kamikazed itself to weaken Calamity Ganon begins to react, causing Teba, Riju, Yunobo, and Sidon to glow as well. With Hyrule saved and the Champions still alive, their mission was complete, and it was time for them to return to their own timeline. After Daruk and Yunobo say goodbye, promising to never forget the time they spent together, Yunobo departs with the other future Champions to be returned to their own timeline.
In the Guardian of Remembrance DLC, Daruk takes Yunobo and Vah Rudania to Kakariko Village when it came under attack by monsters and the Yiga Clan soldiers led by Sooga. Once the dust settles, the Sheikah civilians cheer for them in gratitude for saving them. When Daruk glances at him, Yunobo panics and states that he isn't a hero, and that Daruk deserves the credit. He goes on to explain that he used to be a shy coward who is scared of everything, until he met a young man who guided him and assisted him in finding his courage. Pleased to hear that, Daruk takes Yunobo's arm and raises it in the air as the crowd gives another round of applause. Daruk assures Yunobo that he is indeed a hero and he's proud to have him as his descendant and goes as far as to dub him the Champion of the Future. Yunobo smiles at him.
During the secret DLC ending, Yunobo is seen sitting at the high cliff of Death Mountain with Daruk as they enjoy the sights and eating the Prime Rock Roasts as their main course, and is later seen again with Link, Zelda, Impa, both present and future Champions as Terrako amuses them.
Character Information
Yunobo can be easily described as timid and cowardly, often getting scared easily of the slightest things. Overtime, with the help of a Hylian friend of his, he eventually learns to come out of his shell and build up his courage. Because of that, he was able to go back to the past to protect Daruk from Fireblight Ganon's fiery crushing blow. Yunobo still gets nervous, though mostly at a more reasonable situation where his life is genuinely in danger, but he is easily brought back up with a few encouraging words. He is easily excited when he watches someone demonstrate their strength and skill and gushes at it at every opportunity. Yunobo does seem have moments of self-doubt and isn't very proud of the Goron he used to be until Daruk dubs him the Champion of the Future.

- X: Yunobo throws a punch, launching a stone fist rocketing forward.
- Y, X: Yunobo pulls up a rock and punches it, the shards scattering in all directions.
- Y, Y, X: Yunobo curls up into a ball and rolls forward, hitting all in front of him. His spin can continue longer if X is continually hit.
- Y, Y, Y, X: Yunobo spins around swiftly, fists extended. Tapping X can keep Yunobo spinning for awhile longer until too dizzy to keep fighting.
- Y, Y, Y, Y, X: Yunobo jumps into the air and curls into a ball, slamming into the ground. Upon impact, Yunobo causes a stone fist to launch him into the air and damaging all around his point of impact.
- Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, X: Yunobo pulls forth the cannons he uses to launch himself on death mountain, smashing into all foes before him.
- Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y, Y: Yunobo throws several punches and pulls up a rock to hit his foes. HE follows up with a spinning punches and finishes with a powerful punch that throws air ahead of it.
- A: Yunobo summons a pile of rocks and two Goron miners. they begin weakening the rocks for Yunobo, who finishes the job with his fists.
- Weak Point Smash 1: Yunobo leaps into the air and curls into a ball. Summoning his shielding power, he crashes into his foe.
- Weak Point Smash 2: Yunobo throws a barrage of punches, with a rock pulled from the ground and hurled at his target.
- ZR: Rock Roast to power up his version of Daruk's Protection to amplify his strikes. Yunobo rotates between making a firey shield, a spiked shield, and an electric shield to add fire, range, and electric damage to his attacks.
