Items (Hyrule Warriors)

From Koei Tecmo Wiki

Hyrule Warriors features an item system that can be utilized both in and out of battle. Items for attacking are powered up by defeating foes and picking up their corresponding power-up icon during battle.

Keeping in touch with other Zelda titles, these items may be used to alter the terrain for hidden treasures or puzzles. Players can switch between these items in real-time using the same controls as Skyward Sword.

Items dropped by enemies, torn grass, or broken pots do not disappear when left untouched, enabling players to pick them up anytime.
