Mipha is a playable character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. The princess of the Zora, who possesses an incredible healing power. She was childhood friends with Link. Now she is entrusted with piloting Divine Beast Vah Ruta.
Role in Games
Link, Impa, and Princess Zelda pays a visit to Zora's Domain where the latter inquires of King Dorephan about Mipha becoming the Zora Champion to pilot Divine Beast Vah Ruta to destroy Calamity Ganon's forces and defenses, but the king politely declines the offer as he does not want to put her in serious peril. Mipha expresses joy in being able to see Link for the first time in ages, but before the conversation goes on further, they soon hear that Prince Sidon had disappeared and a horde of monsters are attacking her home. Mipha takes immediate action, fearing that Sidon likely wandered into the forbidden Ploymus Mountain where a dangerous Lynel resided. She eventually finds him facing down the Lynel with a spear and they defeat it; she firmly tells him that he had them very worried about him but lets him know that she is proud of his courage. However, Ganon's reinforcements arrive in an attempt to bring down the Zora forces, and at Terrako's suggestion, Mipha takes control of Divine Beast Vah Ruta and uses it to obliterate the majority of the forces including an Electric Moblin, which was about to kill her father as electricity is fatal to the Zoras. Once they were in the clear, a grateful King Dorephan reluctantly agrees to allow Mipha to be recruited as the Zora Champion and adds a condition that she returns unscathed, since he couldn't bear to lose her, especially when Sidon still needs a sister for support as he is very young.
With all four Champion pilots recruited, Mipha develops a brother-sister bond with Daruk while passing through Castle Town with Zelda calibrates the Divine Beasts for them. They are suddenly attacked by the Yiga Clan who are under Sooga's orders forcing them to fight them off. Princess Zelda is at Sooga's mercy and Mipha and most of the warriors are too far away to help. Just as Zelda was about to be killed, Link blocks his attacks, forcing Sooga to retreat. She later joins the rest of the Champions at Korok Forest where Revali takes out several large monsters surrounding the area with Divine Beast Vah Medoh, before letting them know it's safe to enter. During their exploration, Mipha comments on the mist in the forest, prompting Revali to complain about it and thinking about the possibility that they are lost before Daruk scolds him and Revali counters with telling him off that he can't see, even when he flies. They find themselves assisting Hestu the giant Korok in getting through the monster infested forest. They soon encounter odd appearances of Malice and Astor's Malice versions of the four Champions called Hollows, with Mipha being one of them. Link and Zelda are ambushed by Astor and his Hollows at the clearing where the Master Sword rested. The Mipha Hollow disarms Link by snagging standard army sword with her trident and breaks it, before making an attempt at Zelda's life with the other three versions, but Link dispels them with the light of the Master Sword just in time and pulls it out of the pedestal to engage Astor in battle, but Astor eventually retreats upon realizing that the Master Sword is too powerful for him to handle at this point. The real Champions arrive and meet with the Great Deku Tree, telling them that their preparations are complete while telling Zelda not to lose hope in awakening her power, leaving Zelda deep in thought over her countless attempts to achieve this, even on their way back to Hyrule Castle. They soon had to deal with the monsters surrounding the castle and eventually succeed. Mipha is declared alongside Link, Daruk, Revali, and Urbosa the official Champions of Hyrule and she switches out her sash and most of her royal jewelry for her new blue Champion's sash which she wears over her left shoulder. As the new Champions rest at the outskirts of the castle, Terrako and Impa start arguing and Mipha inquires Daruk to help her become stronger and her speech slows down upon looking in Link's direction, but the Hylian catches on and approaches her, making her panic and blatantly attempts to defend herself. After that, Mipha and the other Champions return to their homeland to prepare for the upcoming disaster, while King Rhoam issues evacuation orders to the citizens to keep the casualties to a minimum as much as he could once, he learns that Calamity Ganon will break free on Zelda's 17th birthday. His troops head to Akkala Citadel and Fort Hateno as reinforcements, as the fall of these two strongholds would seal Hyrule's doom.
Later, Robbie and Purah are taken prisoner by the Yiga Clan while researching Terrako and Purah prompts Terrako to take the Sheikah Slate to Princess Zelda which it does. As Terrako arrives, Calamity Ganon's seal finally breaks and Hyrule Castle is covered in darkness. Mipha witnesses these events, but the Sheikah Towers are powered down, cutting her off from the other Champions, leaving her with no choice but to board Divine Beast Vah Ruta as the other three did the same on their beasts. King Rhoam and the Royal Guard tell Link and Zelda to flee before being apparently killed by the Guardians. Mipha finds Waterblight Ganon waiting for her, and they clash with one another, but after some time, Mipha grows increasingly tired, commenting that she now knows how a warrior meets their end. Waterblight charges at her with an ice flail along with ice blocks tossed at her. Mipha prepares to face her death with dignity, but fortunately, due to Terrako's intervention through Zelda's despair, a time portal appears, and an adult Sidon arrives to block the demon's attacks, declaring that he will not let it take her life, which surprises Mipha immensely upon seeing an older version of her brother. She managed to fare a bit better with her brother at her side, but they eventually fight a losing battle. Sidon's involvement bought enough time for Link and his allies to provide backup and eventually destroyed it, keeping Vah Ruta under Mipha's control. Mipha is too shaken up to continue fighting and stays behind while Sidon joins the group to do the same favor for Daruk and Yunobo who are fighting Fireblight Ganon. The warriors destroy the Igneo Talus, so Mipha can still provide support by using Vah Ruta's trunk to sprout water to cool the lava so they can help the two Gorons defeat their enemy. After Fireblight is defeated, Mipha questions Sidon if he really is her brother, and he confirms it to be so. Daruk asks Princess Zelda on what had become of Hyrule Castle. Mipha and Sidon later pilot Vah Ruta together and the other surviving Champions join them with their future counterparts which the latter saved them from their similar fates that Mipha would have had. The siblings bring Vah Ruta to the Akkala Citadel to defend it from the army of monsters and the corrupted Guardians that put the stronghold under siege and later assisted Urbosa and Riju with Daruk and Yunobo, Revali and Teba when they were overwhelmed by vast reinforcements. She helps back up Fort Hateno as well, and Purah activates a failsafe to destroy the vast majority of the Guardians that made up the main part of Ganon's army that would have doomed Hyrule; the safety of the two vital fortresses and Zelda's successful awakening of her power, turning the tides of the war in Hyrule's favor.
In the Guardian of Remembrance DLC, Mipha and Sidon head to Goponga Village to help the Zora Soldiers defend it from a surge of monsters. Once most of the monsters were taken out, Sidon instructs the healthier Zora soldiers on the next task while Mipha uses her power to mend the wounds on the injured soldiers. She then sees her brother and the other Zora soldiers fighting more monsters and an Electric Moblin approaches her. Before she realized it, her infant brother steps between her and the Moblin with a spear and she desperately pleads for him to get away, but thankfully the adult Sidon gets involved and slays the Moblin before she and the young Sidon were hurt. Sidon checks on his younger self while Mipha expresses relief that both of them were unharmed and asks her infant brother what he was doing there. Sidon similarly tells his infant self that he shouldn't wander off on his own, but he does commend his courage and tells him that he will one day become stronger so that he can protect his sister, while trailing off for a bit, before flashing their grins as Mipha giggles in amusement.
Zelda rallies the army to take the fight to Ganon and Master Kohga had defected to her side after Astor had betrayed the Yiga Clan and used the spirits of the fallen members to revive the Blights in a desperate attempt to ensure his prophecy comes to be. Kohga and his remaining army assists in defending the Great Plateau, where Zelda learns that her father and his guard had managed to survive thanks to the Ancient Guardian Shield that she gave him earlier. Purah managed to get the Sheikah Towers back online and all of the tribes; Hylian, Zora, Goron, Rito, Sheikah, Gerudo, Yiga Clan and the Koroks all arrive in unification at the grounds of Hyrule Castle under the leadership of Princess Zelda and King Rhoam and launched a full-scale assault to take back control of Hyrule Castle. Astor starts to lose his mind declaring that destroying the heroes is his fate. The heroes took out several forces and destroyed the Blight Ganons for good. When Harbinger Ganon and Astor lose to them, the latter went absolutely crazy and orders Ganon to destroy the warriors but is consumed by Malice and the process caused Terrako to become possessed by this power, forcing the reluctant Link and Zelda to fight it and they significantly damage it enough so it couldn't fight them. Mipha and the other warriors present mourn for Terrako and the princess, after fully recalling the Little Guardian's role in her past, furiously swears that Ganon will surely fall and make their way to the Sanctum, where they confront Calamity Ganon. They couldn't hurt it at first, but Zelda's power reactivates Terrako and it rushes upstairs to sacrifice itself to breach Ganon's defenses, making Ganon vulnerable to general attacks. After a long intense battle, Link slashes Ganon in two with the Sword that Seals the Darkness and Princess Zelda uses her power to seal Calamity Ganon away for good, ending the war and restoring peace to Hyrule. Mipha says her good-byes to Sidon, with pride with what he had become, as he and the future Champions are returned to their timeline, looking on as their future is brighter and better than ever before.
Mipha would later participate in searching for Terrako's fifty components with everyone else also contributing to the cause. They eventually were able to reassemble Terrako and everyone rejoices as Princess Zelda is reunited with her companion. Terrako would pay each of the Champions a visit in their hometown with Mipha greeting it and she later joins the other warriors in a group hug with Daruk at Hyrule Castle.
In the secret DLC ending, Mipha visits Sidon, who was bonding with the older counterpart, and she pets both of them, which prompts them to grin at each other once again. Mipha is then seen interacting with the rest of the Champions, present and future, as Terrako joins in and entertains them. Later, Mipha is seen at the Sheikah Tower with her fellow Champion Pilots, who are all back into their original attires, watching Zelda as she takes off on a paraglider and is joined by Terrako as they soar as they enjoy the sights and happy to see that Hyrule is recovering nicely and the princess notes that their efforts were worth it.
Character Information
The beloved princess of the Zora and eldest child of King Dorephan, Mipha is unique among her people for her healing ability that came to be known as Mipha’s Grace. She is also a childhood friend of Link’s, having met him when he was four and harboring feelings for him over the years.
Personality
Mipha is gentle but strives to be both a kind and firm older sister to her brother Sidon. She also proclaims in the original Breath of the Wild that she is someone who follows her heart even though it can make her clash with her father and cause her pain.
Powers and Abilties
Mipha is a renowned healer whose powers initially manifested in Mipha's Grace, which she bestows on Link after defeating Waterblight Ganon in the original Breath of the Wild and has the effect of completely restoring his health when he is about to fall and temporarily granting him extra health with a 24-minute cooldown. In Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, it manifests by allowing her to restore allies' health with fountains created by her Strong and Special Attacks.
Her trademark weapon is the Lightscale Trident, the strongest and most durable Zora-made spear and was said to have been crafted for her on the day of her birth.
