Xiahou En (onyomi: Kakō On) is Xiahou Dun's fictional nephew and sword-bearer under the command of Cao Cao.
Role in Games
In most Dynasty Warriors titles, Xiahou En is a secondary general who appears during the escape of Changban. Should players choose to slay him, they will be rewarded with the unique sword that he drops, the Azure Band Sword AKA the Sword of Light, in the earlier titles. In later titles, his role is reduced to being a simple officer, though he may appear in other battles before Changban as well.
In Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed, defeating Xiahou En is one of the main objectives of the Changban campaign. Upon losing, he will drop the Blue Steel Sword which allows the player to always land critical hits for 60 seconds.
In Musou OROCHI Z, Xiahou En serves as a replacement officer for his uncle when players assume the latter's role in one of the original dream stages.
His role of carrying the Sword of Light is also in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series. In the games, Xiahou En appears as an early officer of Cao Cao. Surprisingly, most games ignore the family relations between him and the rest of the Xiahou family. His battle skills are average at best, with his other stats being fairly low.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms
Xiahou En is featured in chapter 41 of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel. During the pursuit of Liu Bei at Changban, Zhao Yun, despite many thinking he had betrayed his comrades, went off to find his lord's missing wife. When he began his search for Lady Mi and the infant Liu Shan, he was confronted by Xiahou En, spear in hand and followed by ten other horsemen. Xiahou En had strapped to his back the "Qinggang (Azure Band) Sword". The famed blade was one of Cao Cao's personal swords, renowned to be able to easily cut through any metal. Cao Cao's other personal blade, the Beside Heaven Sword, was carried by the warlord himself.
At the first pass of arms, Zhao Yun killed Xiahou En and took Azure Band Sword.
