Alternate portrait
Ma Zhong (onyomi: Ba Chū) is an officer of Wu. Historically, he is only briefly mentioned capturing Guan Yu and Guan Ping under the command of Pan Zhang at the battle for Jing Province. The novel gives him a slightly expanded role, in which, Ma kills Huang Zhong during the battle of Yiling. He is, however, killed by both Fu Shiren and Mi Fang when they attempt to rejoin Liu Bei's forces.
Role in Games
Ma Zhong sporadically appears in transition stages for Wu ranging from Hefei to Yiling. He isn't given much of an important role until Dynasty Warriors 7, where at Yiling, he ambushes Guan Suo and manages to stop his rampage at the cost of his own life. Even if Ma Zhong survives the encounter, he eventually succumbs to his injuries afterwards.
In Warriors Orochi 2, Ma Zhong serves as Yoshitsune's replacement officer when players assume the latter's role during the Battle of Itsukushima.
