Conquest Mode in Dynasty Warriors M is a gameplay feature that has players explore and conquer the various regions of China. By taking over another kingdom's region, officers can be assigned to govern them and grant passive boosts to the player's current team. Each area has a number of skirmishes that offer different challenges and rewards. Their overall difficulty gradually escalates as the player progresses further. Once a battle has been cleared, it cannot be repeated again. Optional missions come in the form of extra challenging battles and requests made by NPCs.
Clearing increments of five missions raises the player's conquest level which raises the amount of rewards accumulated over time. It also increases the quality of items available. Note that only mandatory and challenging missions apply as request battles do not have an impact on conquest level.
While exploring a region's environment, players may sometimes come across random items or resources that can be used to their advantage.
Similar to Story Mode, difficulty-based versions of each region is available for players to take on. These offer more of a challenge and yield superior rewards.
