Dynasty Warriors 8/Skills

In Dynasty Warriors 8, skills amplify certain aspects of a character's fighting ability or provide beneficial effects when used. They are acquired by achieving specific conditions such as defeating an enemy officer while retaining full health. In the case of ability augmenting skills, they can be upgraded up to 20 times by repeatedly clearing their requirements. The chances of upgrading a skill are determined by difficulty level. Up to four skills can be equipped at a time, though players can alternate between them in the middle of a battle.

Health Springs	体力の奔流	Adds a bonus to health gauge recovery.	Defeat an opponent using an advantageous weapon.
Musou Springs	無双の奔流	Adds a bonus to refilling Musou gauge.	Defeat an enemy officer with a Musou or Rage attack.
Rage Springs	覚醒の奔流	Adds a bonus to refilling Rage gauge.	Defeat an enemy officer while in a state of Rage.
Burning Spirit	闘志の陽炎	Increases the duration of power-up items.	Defeat an enemy officer with a switch attack.
Secret Arts	藤甲秘術	Increases resistance against ranged attacks.	Defeat an enemy officer while speed is doubled.
Nullification	無明の帳	Increases resistance against elemental attacks.	Defeat an opponent using a disadvantageous weapon.
Equestrian	人馬一体	Improves equestrian skills.	Defeat an enemy officer with a mounted attack.
Havoc	獅子奮迅	Increases attack range.	Defeat an enemy officer within a set period of time during battle.
Health Boost	体力高揚	Increases the maximum size of character's health gauge.	Defeat an enemy officer while health gauge is full.

Determination	捲土重来	Restores a portion of the character's health when knocked down.	Defeat an enemy officer while health gauge is red.
