Tsuyoshi Takishita was a Japanese voice actor and narrator. He began his voice acting career in 1998, having done background voices at first before working his way up to more major roles as time went by. He loved eating cabbage and once went through a week of eating nothing but the vegetable during his junior high years.
Best known as the voice of Sima Yi from the Dynasty Warriors, Takishita once likened his reprisals of the character to that of theatrical plays in which each attempt gave him opportunities to add personal touches to his performances over the years especially after the inclusion of the Sima clan in later titles. His other roles included Gevel in Growlanser, Carlos Vallerte in Power Rangers Turbo, and Wolf Yoshitomi in Saint Seiya Omega.
On March 10, 2013, Takishita accidentally fell on a riverbank while on his way home. The wounds he sustained were fatal and his death was publicly revealed a day after. He is survived by his wife of four years Jun Shikano. Koei and fellow voice actor Ryotaro Okiayu posted their condolences on Twitter. Fans continue to express their grief over his death or gratitude for his performances on the last post he made on his personal blog. A Sima Yi wallpaper made in Takishita's memory was released by Omega Force on the Dynasty Warriors 8 Japanese website with their condolences.
