Nobushige Takeda

From Koei Tecmo Wiki

Nobushige Takeda is one of Shingen's younger brothers and known as one the Twenty-Four Generals of Takeda. He was originally favored to succeed as the next head of the family, but supported his brother's rebellion against their father.

His Nobunaga's Ambition counterpart is forty-second place in Gamecity's character popularity ranking for 2015. The Nobunaga no Yabou 201X poll for 4-star officers puts him in sixtieth place. He placed twenty-fourth in the Nobunaga no Yabou Taishi poll for most favorite father.

Role in Games

In the Samurai Warriors series, Nobushige makes his only appearance at Kawanakajima. He also appears in Yoshimoto Imagawa's last stage in Samurai Warriors: Xtreme Legends. During the series's fourth title, he poses as Shingen to lead Kenshin's forces away from his brother. Even if the player seeks to protect him, his death is unavoidable and causes a mourning Shingen to withdraw from Kawanakajima. Shingen warns that Nobushige's personality is a near perfect match to Yukimura's to a wary Nobuyuki.

Nobushige is included in other Takeda campaigns during Kessen III. He usually commands mounted archers as a supporting officer under Shingen. After Shingen's death, he is a supporting officer for his nephew Katsuyori.

Historical Information

Jirō (次郎, Nobushige's childhood name) was one of Shingen's younger siblings. He was favored by their father and would have inherited leadership over the Takeda if not for his elder sibling's rebellion. Nonetheless, he supported Shingen during the latter's military campaigns, occasionally leading large amount of troops on his behalf. Known for his military talents, he is famous for writing the Kyūjūkyū Kakun, a set of 99 short rules for members of the Takeda. Although he died fighting Kageie Kakizaki's regiment at Kawanakajima, his efforts caused many casualties for the Uesugi forces, causing both armies to withdraw from the battle.
