Yoshishige Satake was the eighteeth head of the Satake clan and was a son of Yoshiaki Satake. He is skilled in fighting.
The Nobunaga no Yabou 201X poll for 4-star officers puts him in thirty-seventh place. In his popularity ranking for 2015 in Nobunaga's Ambition counterpart, he placed in fifty from originally he was placed in forty-sixth.

Historical Information
He was a eldest son of Satake Yoshiaki and he was also known by the nickname of "Ogre Yoshishige" (鬼義重, Oni Yoshishige) because he skilled in battle. During his rule, he has to do battle between the Date clan and Hōjō clan. During the battle in Hitotoribashi, he collaborated with Nikaidō clan, Ashina clan, Iwaki clan, Ishikawa clan and Yūki of Shirakawa clan to fight against Date Masamune. When Hideyoshi attacked the Hōjō clan, he asked to join and became as subordinate to Ishida Mitsunari in the battle at Oshi Castle.
During the Sekigahara Campaign, he sided with Tokugawa but while his eldest son, Satake Yoshinobu join Ishida, causing conflicts between father and son. Later, Tokugawa was victorious, he then moved to Rokugō Castle, in order not to cause trouble again with Yoshinobu. He died from a falls off his horse while hunting at the age 65 and his youngest son, Satake Yoshinao was born after his death.
