Kaneaki Mimaki is one of Mitsuhide's known retainers. He formed the front line of defenses for Mitsuhide's personal camp at Yamazaki. When the situation looked grim, Kaneaki was the one to send a messenger to his lord and urged for his retreat. Allegedly the message was, "My death shall lead the path for your escape. Use this moment to flee." Kaneaki and his troops died fighting for Mitsuhide's retreat to Shoryuji.
Role in Games
Kaneaki first appears in Samurai Warriors 2 during Mitsuhide's revolt at Honnōji. He is later stationed at Shoryuji during Yamazaki. In the expansion, Kaneaki is one of the first opponents Katsuie fights in his dream stage.
Samurai Warriors 3 has Kaneaki again appearing at Honnōji. At Yamazaki, he is camped near the bottom of Mt. Tenno. For Samurai Warriors Chronicles, his defeat is one of the key requirements needed to breach the Akechi main camp.
During his time in Warriors Orochi, he is a member of Nobunaga's resistance army.
