Asakunya Kagetake in Samurai Cats
Kagetake Asakura is a retainer of the Asakura and a part of their household. He led Yoshikage's forces since the former lacked battle experience. He stood as commander of the Asakura forces at Anegawa, killed Nobunaga's son Nobuharu and Yoshinari Mori during the Shiga Campaign. He helped Yoshikage escape at Tonezaka but the Asakura soon surrender to the Oda. After failing to queel an uprising in Echizen, he submitted to the rebels, but the Oda invaded again and Kagetake did not survive.
Role in Games
The Samurai Warriors series mainly features Kagetake under the Asakura at Anegawa. For the first game, in Noh's story, if he is defeated, the Asakura forces will begin to pull out. If Ieyasu's subgenerals are taken out during the mission "Asakura Falls", Noh must assist Yasumasa Sakakibara to throw Kagetake off guard. In the expansion, for the mission Look Where You're Going at Kanegasaki, Ina must take out Kagetake, Kagenori and Yoshikage. On Tadakatsu's mission Roar of the Rat, he must get the Asakura to leave the Tokugawa alone by defeating Kagetake and Yoshikage.
In Samurai Warriors 2, Kagetake first appears at Kanegasaki to ambush Nobunaga. At Odani Castle, Kagetake is stationed with Yoshikage at their main camp. Once Nagamasa secures a path for reinforcements at Mt. Jizo, he will be among the Asakura generals to back up the Azai lord. He may also be found on Nagamasa's version of Shizugatake. On Nagamasa's version of Kanegasaki, Kagetaka will attempt to punish Nagamasa for going against the Azai.
In Samurai Warriors 3, Ieyasu will be given a mission at Anegawa, to cut down Kagetake to get to the Asakura main camp.
In Samurai Warriors 4, Nagamasa may need to back Kagetake up against Mototada Torii and Moritsuna Watanabe.
