The story mode of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity follows Link, Zelda, and other heroes strive to stop Calamity Ganon destroying Hyrule, as he did in the Breath of the Wild timeline. Almost every character is unlocked through this mode, with a few extra characters locked behind side missions. Eventually players can unlock knowledge of how many chests and Korok seeds remain to be found in each map. Once completed, each stage can be played in a free play mode.
