Yūko Nagashima

From Koei Tecmo Wiki

Yūko Nagashima is a Japanese voice actor. Her husband is fellow voice actor Yōji Ueda; the two of them gave birth to a daughter on May 2, 2008.

As a child, Nagashima had always wondered what it was like being on the other side of the TV screen. This fueled her interest in the world of acting. While working part-time at a book store, she came across a leaflet inviting students to learn acting at Aoni Jyuku. Out of curiosity, she took the entrance exam alongside a friend and passed it much to her surprise.

The following year was full of difficulties for Nagashima as she had to balance both work and training at the same time. Fortunately, her efforts eventually paid off as she made her official debut in 1992. Early on, she immediately developed a preference for voice over roles due to her discomfort with on-screen appearances.

Although Nagashima has a wide vocal range, she tends to be assigned big sister roles. She once had a complex concerning her native Kansai dialect, but currently has no problem using it for some of her characters. A few of the roles done by her include Rina Takamiya in Saint Tail, Kei Ayamine in Muv-Luv Alternative, and Elena Fisher in the Uncharted series.
