Roger Craig Smith

From Koei Tecmo Wiki

Roger Craig Smith is an American voice actor and former stand-up comedian. He earned his degree in screenwriting while doing stand-up routines to support himself. He eventually entered the dubbing profession in 2004.

Having grown up in Southern California, Smith was regarded as the class clown by his peers in middle school. He originally settled with the idea of becoming a comedian, but was encouraged to do voice-overs after displaying proficiency in acting out a wide range of different characters during his routines. He then took voice acting classes at Burbank before auditioning for roles.

Smith once stated his past experiences in comedy helped him get used to voice acting due to the amount of adaptability required to satisfy the audience. He personally found the challenges of being a voice actor gratifying as the job limited individuals to only using their voice and instincts when performing. Furthermore, he believed that every actor has a different path in the industry despite sharing similar backgrounds.

Aside from voice acting, Smith often visits patients at the Children's Hospital of Orange County.

Given Smith's talent for acting, he is capable of assuming various roles and tweaking his vocal pitch to suit them more. His roles include the titular protagonist in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Gilbert G.P. Guilford in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and Eddy Gordo in Tekken 6.
