Rie Kugimiya is a Japanese voice actor. During the 1st Seiyu Awards, she was nominated as Best Leading Actress.
Kugimiya joined her current agency in 1998 after completing her courses at the first summer school of voice actors sponsored by the Japan Narration Acting Institute. She is actively seen in promotional events where she does readings or performs on stage. She enjoys gardening, has two Yorkshire Terriers, and loves watching Shaolin Soccer. One of her closes friends is Romi Park.
At the start of her career, Kugimiya lent her voice to young female characters who exhibited perky or cute traits. She became extremely popular with fans for her tsundere roles, but has since branched out to different casting archetypes. Her roles include Cleopatra in Fate/Grand Order, Momo Akanegakubo in Shokugeki no Soma, and Shannon in Umineko: When They Cry.
