Romi Park

Romi Park is a Korean-Japanese voice actor and singer. She is the founder of her own voice acting school called Studio Cambria. She is married to fellow voice actor Kazuhiro Yamaji.

Born to Zainichi Koreans, Park attended an all-girls private school because her mother feared the local institutions would have been a poor fit for her. Despite not eating much and having almost succumbed to pneumonia, she was surprisingly active in a physical sense.

Although Park had little interest in theater at the time, she was drawn into it after a senior invited her to join the drama club. She once thought about attending a Korean school, but her mother forbade it due to the tense situation with South Korea at the time. She later joined Theater Company Yen in 1995, but found herself floundering after staying with them for 2 years. She considering quitting acting altogether, but changed her mind after winning an audition for Brain Powerd thanks to her manager.

Park won numerous accolades throughout her career including the award for Best Lead Actress in the 1st Seiyu Awards. She also owns two pets: a cat named Kogito and a dachshund called Sarang.

Due to her deep voice, Park is often compared to Megumi Ogata due to both women specializing in younger male roles. She sometimes voices mature or villainous women on occasion. Her roles include Switzerland in Hetalia: Axis Powers, Vidia in the Disney Fairies movies, and Abdiel in Shin Megami Tensei V.
