Kaito Ishikawa

From Koei Tecmo Wiki

Kaito Ishikawa is a Japanese voice actor. He has been active in the entertainment industry since 2010.

When Ishikawa was a child, he experienced his first taste of acting by performing in a school production of Gamba's Great Adventure. Although the play itself was not particularly exciting, the audience applauded at Ishikawa for making a perfect landing after he accidentally fell off stage. This event fueled his desire to become a genuine actor, encouraging him to join drama clubs in his secondary education years.

Being an anime fan, Ishikawa's admiration of Tomokazu Sugita and Hiroaki Hirata's performances cemented his decision to take up voice acting as a vocation. Although his parents were against his choice in career, they relented on the condition that he pay his way through voice acting school. To that end, he chose Pro Fit's Voice Actor Training Center partially because he wanted to stand out and not work for a talent agency that had someone with the same vocal qualities as him.

Ishikawa's affinity for sports helped him land several leading roles, some of which happen to focus on the sports genre. 2014 saw him win Best Rookie Actor in the 8th Seiyu Awards. He later earned the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award at the 14th Seiyu Awards in March 7, 2020.

When Ishikawa is not voice acting, he hosts several radio shows with his friends and co-workers. He is usually a bit more casual and easygoing in these stints. His longest running radio show is Ishikawa Kaito no Extend Radio which gave him an opportunity to not only interact with fans and share advice, but also to improve his own acting skills by acting out various requests given to him. His circle of friends include Soma Saito and Yuuma Uchida.

As a voice actor, Ishikawa is commonly known by fans for his romance simulation roles, many of which happen to be produced by Otomate. He excels at voicing male characters who act stoic and distant on the outside while being kind and considerate on the inside. A few of his roles include Molossia in Hetalia: The World Twinkle, Genos in One-Punch Man, and Yuzuru Atsuta in Shin Megami Tensei V.
