The Demon Hand (鬼の手, Oni no te) is a special device in Toukiden 2 developed by the Professor that creates a physical manifestation of one's own thoughts. The name also refers to the giant Oni hand that emerges from the device itself. The hand serves as both a tool for traveling and as a means of combating Oni.
How to Obtain
This tool is given to the player at the beginning of the game.
Suggested Uses
As stated before, the Demon Hand serves as both a tool for traversal and a means of fighting Oni. As such, it has a variety of on-field and in-battle abilities. Almost all of its abilities involve holding and releasing the R2 button while lining up the reticle over a target.
- Field Uses
- Oni Grapple: The player can reach out and grab a target to quickly pull themselves towards it. The player can use this technique multiple times while in the air.
- Oni Eater: The player can reach out and grab elemental energy from geopulses and either blast it at an enemy or infuse their weapon with it.
- Oni Smash: The player can reach out and grab and crush an obstacle, completely destroying it.
- Battle Uses
- Jumping Attack: The player can use the Demon Hand to grab an Oni's body part and then leap into the air and attack it from above. If the player doesn't hit an attack button, then they'll flip over the Oni instead. This move can also be cancelled with
. - Oni Throw: The player can interrupt an Oni's charge moves (i.e. moves with a reddish aura) by grabbing it and pulling it down. If the Unity gauge is full, the Oni will be slammed into the ground.
- Oni Burial: When the Unity gauge is full, aiming the Demon Hand will highlight certain parts of an Oni's body in white. Then, the player will destroy that part with a special attack, permanently destroying it. Unmarked parts are destroyed as normal. The player can use
to activate the grappling function while under this state. To use this ability, the player must press and hold R1 before tapping R2.
