Nobunaga Shimazaki

From Koei Tecmo Wiki

Nobunaga Shimazaki (島﨑 信長, Shimazaki Nobunaga, born December 6, 1988 in the Miyagi Prefecture) is a Japanese voice actor employed by Aoni Production since 2009. Hikaru Midorikawa's work inspired him to join the voice acting industry. In junior high, he was captain of his school's soft tennis club, played the saxophone in a brass band, and served as student council president. His interests include gaming, confectionery-making, cooking, and swimming. He is also skilled in customizing computer hardware.

Shimazaki was voted "Best Rookie" in the 2013 Seiyu Awards. Some of his character roles are Ryō Sakurai in Kuroko's Basketball, Makoto Sunakawa (Suna) in Ore Monogatari!!, and Lukather Harden (Luke) in GARO: Vanishing Line.

Since his parents named him after an historical figure, he has been teased about his name since his childhood. Shimazaki became familiar with the Nobunaga's Ambition series during his adolescence and became a fan of them. He has admitted in interviews that he has felt an "odd kinship" with the games; the title of his personal blog even spoofs his favorite entry in the series. Given the chance, he refuses to voice his Oda namesake because he feels it's a jarring disconnect for him. Shimazaki appears to have overcome this hurdle in 2015.
