Base Game
Wang Yuanji is affiliated with the throwing knives in this title. When equipped with it, Wang Yuanji can perform the following unique attacks listed below.
- EX Attack:
: Jumps up and throws several knives brimming with cyan-colored energy in a large radius towards the ground. Foes struck by this attack will be knocked down before Wang Yuanji can land. - Musou Attack - Stardust (天狼七星陣; lit. "Sirius Seven Stars Formation"):
: Wang Yuanji hurls several knives coated in bursting energy forward as they travel in a wide cone. The last set of knives is fired while Wang Yuanji turns away with her back arched greatly. - Aerial Musou Attack - Falcon Kick (飛炎脚; lit. "Flying Fiery Kick"):
: Spins counterclockwise while airborne and descends to the ground in a fiery spiral, ejecting enemies below to the air as their bodies become engulfed in flames.

- Stratagem Card (Alternate) - Halt the Advance (足止め策; lit. "Confining Measure"): Imbues the attacks of allied bow troops with the element of ice.
- Stratagem Card (Downloadable) - Eyes That See All (真を見抜く目; lit. "Eyes That See Through the Truth"): Increases the quality of weapons and items found in battle.
- Allied Stratagem: If deployed as a playable officer, Wang Yuanji will escort the player as a bodyguard during battle. Has a chance of happening from time to time.
Shin Sangoku Musou VS
Wang Yuanji is affiliated with the throwing knives in this title, though her EX attack and second Musou attack are absent.

- Charge Attack 3: Y Y X: Functions similarly to its base game incarnation, but throws only two knives instead which gives it less range.
- Charge Attack 6: Y Y Y Y Y X: Functions similarly to its base game incarnation, but throws only three knives instead which gives it less range.
- Normal Attack: Y Y Y Y Y Y: Functions similarly to its base game incarnation, but throws only three knives instead which gives it less range.
- Dash Attack: Dashing + Y: Functions similarly to its base game incarnation, but throws only three knives instead which gives it less range.
- Jump Attack: B Y: Functions similarly to its base game incarnation, but throws only three knives instead which gives it less range.
- Jump Charge: B X: Dives down while spinning around surrounded by a vortex of fire. Despite its appearance, the attack only briefly lifts foes to the air. Considered a watered-down version of Wang Yuanji's Falcon Kick Musou attack from the base game.
- Additional Attacks
- Ranged Attack: Lock-On Enemy + Y: Hurls a dark sphere that stays in place for a few seconds before firing a single knife forward. Multiple spheres can be fired in a row if necessary.
- Ranged Charge: Lock-On Enemy + X: Lobs a dark sphere into the air before snapping fingers to make a knife come diving down from it. Enemies struck by this attack will be knocked down.
- Strong Charge Attack: Hold X During Charge Attack: Prolongs charge attack to further strengthen its damage output. Can break through the enemy's guard.
- Evasion: R: Performs an aerial roll to avoid enemy attacks.
- Musou Attacks
- Normal Musou Skill - Recovery (回復): ZL or Y + B: Restores the user's health.
- Rare Musou Skill - Despair (絶気): ZL or Y + B: Depletes the Musou gauge of nearby enemy officers completely.
- Musou Attack: A: Wang Yuanji performs Stardust as their ground Musou attack.
- Musou Rush: Hold A: Wang Yuanji duels an enemy officer through one of several mini-games that tests their individual reflexes against one another. Should the opponent lose, Wang Yuanji will launch the opponent with a high kick before lobbing numerous dark spheres around the area. After performing a roundhouse kick, she proceeds to snap her fingers, causing the dark spheres to fire several knives at the target from different directions. If the opponent wins, Wang Yuanji will tumble back on the ground without hurting their target. This also happens after winning a Musou Rush mini-game initiated by the opponent. Can only be used if a hostile officer happens to be nearby.

Made playable via spirit item, Wang Yuanji's moveset uses many of the same attacks offered by the throwing knives moveset albeit with some differences.

- Charge Attack 1: Hurls five knives traveling at a fan formation.
- Charge Attack 6: Unleashes a vertical fiery slash to the rear using the knives as makeshift claws and shoots a massive fireball traveling at a good distance.
- Evolution Attack: Extends the normal attack string by hunching forward and unleashing a fiery circular slash with both arms outstretched to the rear.
- Musou Attack: Releases an energy burst that burns and dazes foes before performing Wang Yuanji's Stardust Musou attack from Dynasty Warriors 7.

- Main Attacks
- Strong Attack 1 (Dash): Spins around before shooting an icy knife that explodes after traveling at a certain distance. Deals 180% attack damage. Its bonus effect enables the first hit to deal 44% attack damage to elite enemies while inflicting them with a debuff that increases the amount of damage they take by 18% for 8 seconds.
- Strong Attack 1 (Break): Slams the ground to produce a burst of ice mist, hitting foes with 130% attack damage. Its bonus effect allows it to deal an additional 380% attack damage on hit and greatly reduces their super armor bar. The effect itself triggers every 30 seconds.
- Strong Attack 1 (Armor): Twirls back before firing multiple ice knives in numerous directions, dealing 190% attack damage to foes within a short distance. Its bonus effect grants nearby friendly units a shield that adds a 9% bonus to their health, a 30% damage reduction, and a minor super armor effect. It lasts for 8 seconds and triggers every 40 seconds.
- Strong Attack 1 (Gather): Tosses three ice knives into the air before causing them to multiply into six that pierce through the ground around Wang Yuanji. Inflicts 130% attack damage to surrounding foes. Its bonus effect deals an additional 18% damage to all enemy troops within range and pulls them closer to the user. The effect itself triggers every 10 seconds.
- Strong Attack 2: Turns around lightly while launching a high kick to send nearby foes airborne. Deals 100% attack damage.
- Strong Attack 3: Quickly tosses five knives thrice in a row, dealing 130% attack damage.
- Strong Attack 4: Leaps up and does a sweeping diagonal kick while hopping, inflicting 140% attack damage to enemies.
- Strong Attack 5: Flips in the air for a bit before stomping the ground hard, sending nearby foes airborne. Inflicts 150% attack damage in the process.
- Strong Attack 6: Strongly throws five knives twice in a row towards the enemy, dealing a total of 180% attack damage.
- Normal Attack 1: Flings five knives forward in a fan formation, dealing 30% attack damage to enemies in the way.
- Normal Attack 2: Works similarly to the first normal attack and even has the same damage output.
- Normal Attack 3: Works similarly to the first normal attack, though it deals 50% attack damage.
- Normal Attack 4: Works similarly to the first normal attack, though it deals 50% attack damage.
- Normal Attack 5: Works similarly to the first normal attack, though it deals 80% attack damage.
- Normal Attack 6: Works similarly to the first normal attack, though it deals 100% attack damage and has a slight delay due to Wang Yuanji turning around for it.
- Special Attacks
- EX Attack: Leaps into the air and releases multiple knives downward in a circle, dealing 290% attack damage to foes below while slowing them down or freezing their bodies on the spot.
- Musou Attack: Performing a rendition of her Stardust Musou attack, Wang Yuanji tosses several energy-infused knives at the enemy with the last set released as she bends her back, dealing a total of 630% attack damage in the process.
- Auxiliary Attacks
- Dash Attack: Spins forth and kicks away an array of six knives at foes in front of Wang Yuanji.
- Switch Attack: Drops down and tosses a fan of knives forward upon landing. Only used in certain competitive modes.
- Counter Attack: Dazes foes the moment they hit while blocking.
- Evasion: Tumbles in the air to quickly to avoid enemy attacks.
- Horse Attacks
- Horse Normal Attack: Rapidly fires five knives several times in a row on the left side.
- Horse Kick Attack: Has horse unleash powerful kicks with its forelegs. Has a cooldown time of 8 seconds.
- Horse Stomp Attack: Has horse stomp the ground hard. Has a cooldown time of 6 seconds.
- Horse Musou Attack: Commands horse to charge forward at high speed for a short duration of time.
- General Tactics
- Aloof: Increases critical rate in battle by 8%. Effects increase the higher Wang Yuanji's star ranking becomes.
- Cold Star: Deals 8% more damage to slowed or frozen enemies. Effects increase the higher Wang Yuanji's star ranking becomes.
- Frost: Causes critical hits to inflict one stack of frost mark for 8 seconds. The mark inflicts 25% attack damage and 2.5% slowdown once the duration time ends. Can be stacked up to 8 times without cooling down. Effects increase the higher Wang Yuanji's star ranking becomes.
- Combat Soul Skills
- Heaven Combat Soul Skill: Gains both an 8% movement speed bonus and a 13% critical rate increase for 6 seconds after damaging foes inflicted with a frost mark. Effects do not stack. Both bonuses increase the higher the combat soul's ranking rises.
- Earth Combat Soul Skill: Causes EX attack to deal 90% bonus damage and freeze foes for 2.6 seconds if it lands a critical hit. Bonus and freezing time increase the higher the combat soul's ranking rises.
- Human Combat Soul Skill: Causes foes afflicted with frost marks to receive the biting ailment for 6 seconds, leaving them 120% more vulnerable to charge attacks within that time frame. Has a cooldown time of 8 seconds. Bonus increases the higher the combat soul's ranking rises.
- Skin Skills
- Suit Skill: Gains an 8% defense boost for 6 seconds upon triggering a critical strike.
- Ornament Skill: Causes EX attack and Musou attack to bestow Wang Yuanji with a 10 second buff that increases her attack by 6%.

- Green Parasol: Takes no damage for 8 seconds while gaining a 24% boost in penetration.
- Goose Chirp: Takes no damage for 8 seconds while gaining a 35% boost in penetration.
- Clustered Gleam: Takes no damage for 8 seconds while gaining a 60% boost in penetration.
- Ghost Candle: Takes no damage for 8 seconds while gaining a 60% boost in penetration.

Wang Yuanji retains her weapon moveset from Dynasty Warriors 7 albeit with some changes and additions.
- Changed Attacks
- Charge Attack 1: : Tosses out knives in a fan-shaped formation once.
- Jump Charge: : Hurl knives at a low angle, returning back like a boomerang once Wang Yuanji lands on the ground. The landing part of the animation can trigger the Typhoon and Echo attributes so long as Wang Yuanji's weapon has them attached.
- Team Abilities
- Ability 1 - Regeneration: Accelerates Musou recovery while inactive.
- Ability 2 - Fortitude: Strengthens defense for all team members. Only available in Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate.
- Special Attacks
- Musou Attack: : Wang Yuanji performs Stardust as their ground Musou attack.
- Counter Attack: Counter + L1 + : Quickly swats away an enemy's attack, causing them to stagger briefly.
- Assist Attack: Counter + L1 or R1: Wang Yuanji performs the fourth charge attack to assist a teammate while surrounded within an updraft of wind for extra coverage.
- Grounded Type Action: R1: Slides forward to conjure a set of knives that levitate and twirl in front before flying towards a target.
- Midair Type Action: R1: Hurls an array of knives twice in succession while somersaulting back. The first set are fired diagonally down to the ground while the second set get released at a less steep angle. Each knife toss launches foes to the air.
- Aerial Thrust: : Flips forward in the air to gain more distance in avoiding enemy crowds.
- Normal Strategy Card: Sincere Eye (真実看破; lit. "Truth Detection"): Forces the player and opponent's current officers apart from one another. Very useful for characters who specialize in long-ranged attacks.
- Golden Strategy Card: Princess' Insight (美姫の彗眼; lit. "Beautiful Maiden's Penetrating Insight"): Restores the player's BP in proportion to the amount of cards undergoing CT state.
- Team Attacks
- Triple Rush 1: Performs a rising kick that sends out a mobile shockwave zipping forward.
- Triple Rush 2: Throws knives in a swinging manner back and forth.
- Triple Rush 3: Hurls a massive energy wave on the ground to disperse large crowds of foes with ease.
- Unique Triple Rush: If her teammates happen to be Zhurong and Nene, Wang Yuanji will be able to do a unique triple rush attack alongside them. She contributes to the coordinated assault by dashing forward and unleashing several knives while leaping to the air. While flipping in mid-air, she then proceeds to toss more knives brimming with blue-colored energy below similar to her EX attack.
