Vic Mignogna

From Koei Tecmo Wiki

Vic Mignogna is an American voice actor. He moved to California for better work opportunities. He and fellow voice actor Michele Specht were in a relationship from 2006 to May 2018.

Having majored in television and film production, Mignogna went through different jobs at first. He taught English at Trinity Christian Academy in Florida, worked for the Ocean City Police Department as a seasonal officer, and instructed students on how to create videos at The Art Institute of Houston. He even served as worship leader in Houston's First Baptist Church.

Mignogna made his way into entertainment by arranging songs and music videos for numerous commercials. He later became a voice actor after being invited to work for ADV Films. In time, his popularity skyrocketed among fans within the anime community, though his newfound fame would not come without its share of controversies.

In January 2019, allegations of Mignogna committing several instances of sexual harassment came to light in social media. As a result, Funimation and Rooster Teeth cut ties with him, though Mignogna himself denies the accusations. He filed a lawsuit against the accusers, but was rebuffed in court, resulting in him being initially ordered to compensate the defendants for their attorney fees. However, the case was undergoing an appeal on Mignogna's side, albeit it was then quashed. Mignogna however, has since partially moved on with founding his own studio and doing other projects.

Mignogna's versatile vocal pitch allows him to assume a diverse array of roles. He has lent his performances to characters like his star-making role as Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist, Tamaki Suoh in Ouran High School Host Club (having watched the original Japanese DVD's sent to him by a fan and is one of his other roles shared with Mamoru Miyano), and even voicing another portrayal of Mitsuhide Akechi in Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings. He has something of a rivalry with Todd Haberkorn.
