Takaya Kuroda is a Japanese voice actor. Originally a stage actor in the 80s, he changed professions due to chronic health issues.
Kuroda once lived in Brazil before returning to Japan at the age of 5. Having received proper training at Bungazuka, he was encouraged to give voice acting a try when his health hobbled his performance on stage. He wears sunglasses to alleviate vision problems.
Throughout his career as a voice actor, Kuroda is famous for his harsh but amorous bass pitch, making him an ideal choice for ominous or mature roles. He has voiced Kazuma Kiryu in the Yakuza series, Simon Brezhnev in Durarara!!, Weskham Armaugh in Final Fantasy XV, and Hamunar Nahar Delguna in Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom.
