Basic Attacks
High Strike: Square: Swings right-handed rod to the left.
High Thrust: Triangle: Thrusts left-handed rod forward.
Uppercut Slash: 🡾 + Square: Does an uppercut swing that sends foe airborne.
Mid Thrust: 🡾 + Triangle: Attacks opponent with left-handed rod's pommel.
Low Slash: 🡻 + Square: Performs a round slash while crouching down. Also nudges Taishi Ci slightly forward.

Divine Oracle (三咆襲; lit. "Three Roars Assault"): Square Square Square: Performs two horizontal swings and a slanted round swipe.
Rising Sun (騎虎翻狼; lit. "Riding Tiger Flutter Wolf"): 🡿 + Square Square: Lands an angular spin slash followed by an upward swing that sends the opponent airborne.
Divine Phoenix Oracle (烈咆衝; lit. "Violent Roaring Pierce"): 🡻 + Square Triangle: Extends Low Slash with Super Move.

Maneuvers
Block Slash: X: Quickly raises both rods upward to thwart slashes.
Block Thrust: Circle: Blocks thrust attacks by positioning right-handed rod to the front while gripping it in reverse.
Sidestep: X + Circle: Avoids incoming attacks by sidestepping.
Back Away: 🡸 🡸: Quickly backs away from an opponent.
Lunge: 🡺 🡺: Quickly lunges at an opponent.

Main Attacks
Charge Attack 1: Triangle: Kneels down before swinging outward with both rods simultaneously. Can break an opponent's guard.
Charge Attack 2: Square Triangle: Swings left rod upward while turning around counterclockwise, sending nearby enemies to the air.
Charge Attack 3: Square Square Triangle: Slams right rod downward to stun foes.
Charge Attack 4: Square Square Square Triangle: Thrusts both weapons to the front. Knocks away foes at a further distance than normal compared to other fourth charge attacks.
Normal Attack: Square Square Square Square: Does an inward strike using the right rod, a frontal stab with the left one, an inward turning strike, and an outward sweeping slash.
Musou Attacks
Musou Attack: Circle: Repeatedly thrusts rod forward one at a time while stepping forward, ending the combo with an upward stabbing motion and one last frontal thrust to disperse remaining enemies. Based on Taishi Ci's old Sudden Jab attack and its extensions.
Auxiliary Attacks
Dash Attack: Dashing + Square: Knocks down nearby enemies with a rod jab while sliding briefly.
Jump Attack: X Square: Swings down both rods in an outward manner while leaping in the air.
Counter Attack: L1 + Square: Performs a one-handed thrust that knocks attacking foe away from Taishi Ci.
Horse Attacks
Horse Charge Attack: Triangle: Twirls both rods inversely to different sides while riding. Can be performed while in the middle of doing the normal horse attack string.
Horse Normal Attack: Square Square Square Square: Swings each rod to their respective sides repeatedly.
Horse Musou Attack: Circle: Rides horse while inversely twirling both rods multiple times.
Bow Attacks
Normal Shot: Hold R1 + Square: Shoots a normal arrow.
Charge Shot: Hold R1 + Triangle: Fires a charged shot that dazes the target.
Musou Shot: Hold R1 + Circle: Unleashes a Musou-powered arrow that knocks enemies down. Can fire multiple shots rapidly so long as the user has enough Musou.

Charge Attack 1: Triangle: Taishi Ci thrusts one of his rods forward to do an unblockable grab. If it connects, the target is lifted up to the air before getting rapidly smacked with arcing side swings. The attack ends with the enemy tossed aside via downward dual strike done in an outward manner.
Charge Attack 2: Square Triangle: Swings left rod upward while turning around counterclockwise, sending nearby enemies to the air.
Charge Attack 3: Square Square Triangle: Performs alternating rod strikes that end with an outward cross slash to the front, dazing nearby foes. Tap Triangle repeatedly for additional hits.
Charge Attack 4: Square Square Square Triangle: Thrusts both weapons to the front. Knocks away foes at a further distance than normal compared to other fourth charge attacks.

Ability - Ordinance: Increases the number of supplies acquired when capturing storehouses.
Boost - Life ++: Raises the player's life and Musou gauges by 50 points.
Skill - Roar +: Reduces the enemy's morale by 2 gauges.

Samurai Warriors: State of War

Taishi Ci gains an additional skill in this title.

Sub-Officer Skill - Shield: Provides a chance of doubling defense power at the beginning of a mission.
Charge Attack 1: Triangle: Stuns foes by thrusting one rod forward.
Musou Attack: Circle: The animations are the same as in Dynasty Warriors 4, though it cannot be stopped until the player's Musou gauge is fully depleted. Similar to the Musou attacks employed by the Samurai Warriors cast, a shockwave burst is added at the end of the finisher.
Roll: R: Rolls on the ground to evade enemy attacks.

Fighting Style

When controlled by the AI, Taishi Ci's charge attacks will be imbued with the lightning element by default.

Charge Attack 1: Triangle: Stomps the ground hard to produce a sudden burst that causes nearby foes to trip. Does miniscule damage, but can be useful in providing breathing room against large enemy crowds. Cannot activate elemental effects provided by orbs.
Charge Attack 2: Square Triangle: Swings left rod upward while turning around counterclockwise, sending nearby enemies to the air. Cannot activate elemental effects provided by orbs.

Skill - Rush: Focuses on defeating nearby enemy officers.
Proposed Policy 1 - All Smith: Increases the tech level of all smithies by 20.
Proposed Policy 2 - Recruit: Searches for people within areas under the player's control as well as those adjacent to their borders. Can employ at least 1 person from a list of 5 recruits.
Proposed Policy 3 - Call Reserves: Restores the troop strength of all allied units to maximum.

Dynasty Warriors: Online

Although Taishi Ci's moveset is available for player avatars to make use of, the actual character can be temporarily controlled by using their corresponding spirit item.

Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2

Taishi Ci gains additional abilities and traits in this title.

Ability - Strike ++: Doubles the party's attack power for 30 seconds and restores their Musou gauge.
Support Skill 1 - Spirit: Lowers the enemy's morale even more with each kill count.
Support Skill 2 - Fortify: Doubles the party's defense power for 30 seconds at the start of battle.
Charge Attack 4: Square Square Square Triangle: Thrusts both weapons to the front while releasing two wind cones traveling at a great distance. The wind cone effect does not apply for the counter attack.

Warriors Orochi

Modified Attacks
Charge Attack 1: Triangle: The bursting stomp effect has less range than it did in the base game, though it now inflicts elemental damage. The sequel removes that trait entirely, but it can be replicated by wielding a weapon with the Almighty skill.
Charge Attack 4: Square Square Square Triangle: Thrusts both weapons to the front while releasing two wind cones traveling at a great distance. Elemental activation is limited to the thrusted rods themselves, but the sequel extends it to the wind cones as well. Works best with elemental attributes that inhibit or impede the movements of approaching enemies.
New Attacks
Special Attack 1: R1: Smashes the ground with both rods, creating a fiery tremor. Does not consume Musou.
Special Attack 2: Direction + R1: Unleashes multi-hitting thrusts to the front that release energy streaks along the way. Does not consume Musou. The sequel nerfs the attack by reducing its hit stunning effect and damage output.
Aerial Thrust: X X: Taishi Ci leans slightly forward in the air, enabling him to jump cancel attacks or travel further.
Team Abilities
Ability 1 - Vitality: Increases the team's life.
Ability 2 - Potence: Increases the team's attack.
Ability 3 - Boost: Increases damage done by charge attacks.
Ability 4 - Acclaim: Increases experience points gained.

Warriors Orochi 2

Team Attacks
Assist Attack: Counter + L1 + Square or Triangle: Taishi Ci performs his fifth charge attack to assist a teammate. Consumes a portion of Musou.
Triple Attack 1: Low Health + L2 + R2 + Circle: Pounds the ground to unleash a powerful pillar of wind.
Triple Attack 2: Low Health + L2 + R2 + Circle: Causes ferocious gales to fill the area momentarily via powerful stomp.
Triple Attack 3: Low Health + L2 + R2 + Circle: Hurls a pair of gusts quickly traveling at a long distance.
Triple Attack Finisher: Taishi Ci launches multiple jabs in a row followed by one last thrust using the rod on his right hand. As the whole team finishes up, a bright pillar of light generates at the intersection of their attack range and engulfs the surrounding area. Enemies caught by the blast sustain massive damage while being flung to the air and set on fire.
Strategy - Face Off: Reduces overall damage inflicted upon all allied forces.

Fighting Style

When controlled by the AI in Dynasty Warriors 5, most of Taishi Ci's charge attacks will be imbued with the light element by default.

Base Game

Taishi Ci is affiliated with the spear in this title. Despite sharing the same moveset with other characters, some of his attacks have different traits or effects.

Standard Attacks
Triangle Renbu String 3: Similar to the second Triangle Renbu string, but adds another diagonal spin swipe that sends out an energy wave forward.
Triangle Renbu String Infinite: Similar to the third Triangle Renbu string, but includes a thrust that unleashes a conal wind gust traveling forth, giving it a function reminiscent of his old fourth charge attack in Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2.
Special Attacks
Musou Attack: Circle: Does an empowered version of the first to third Square Renbu string repeatedly with the chain's lone thrust releasing a small energy projectile each time. The finisher is comprised of a side twirl and a frontal thrust releasing a large burst of energy on the floor.
True Musou Attack: Low Health + Circle: Similar to the regular Musou attack, but adds the fire attribute to each hit.
Special Move - Swift Attack: L2: Maximizes the user's Renbu gauge to infinite temporarily and prevents them from being flinched by enemy attacks. Also increases damage output if activated with low health.
Officer Skills
Adrenaline: Doubles attack power for 30 seconds when knocked down and near death.
Ward: Doubles defense power for 30 seconds when knocked down and near death.
Fire Resist: Nullifies fire elemental attacks.
Arrow Guard: Reduces arrow damage taken by half.
Recovery: Improves the effect of recovery items.
Bonus Special: Receives one tome for defeating 300 enemies each time.
Pouch: Allows character to carry up to 2 tomes while making them appear more frequently.
Tome Skills
Overawe: Reduces defense of nearby enemies upon activating special move.
Rage: Increases damage inflicted by Swift Attack and makes it harder for enemies to interrupt combos.
Destroy: Increases damage inflicted to objects by Swift Attack.

Dynasty Warriors 6: Special

Main Attacks
Square Renbu String 1: Does a round leftward swing using right rod, a diagonal strike, an outward cross slash, and another swipe to the left.
Square Renbu String 2: Similar to the first Square Renbu string, but adds a swipe to the right, a downward cross slash, a twin thrust, and a slash to the upper left with both rods pointed in the same direction.
Square Renbu String 3: Similar to the second Square Renbu string, but adds a twin strike towards the upper right and a side swing to the left.
Square Renbu String Infinite: Similar to the third Square Renbu string, but includes several wide criss-crossing slashes while stepping forward.
Triangle Renbu String 1: Performs a downward swing with both rods followed by an upward strike to send foes airborne.
Triangle Renbu String 2: Similar to the first Triangle Renbu string, but adds rapid smacks while holding both rods upright.

Triangle Renbu String Infinite: Similar to the third Triangle Renbu string, but includes a short hop leading up to a powerful ground slam. The impact produces a wide tremor accompanied by a shockwave.
Charge Attack: Holding Triangle: Raises both rods in a crossed manner, then does a spin slash followed by a ground slam that produces a fiery explosion. Foes caught by the blast will be set ablaze. Range becomes even larger once Taishi Ci's Renbu becomes infinite.
Musou Attacks
Musou Attack: Circle: Does an empowered version of the first to third Square Renbu string repeatedly. Taishi Ci finishes the move by banging the earth twice to produce tremors with the last one done while hopping and being larger in size.

Grapple Attacks
Grapple Attack: L1 + Square: Does an outward cross swing with both rods. If the attack successfully connects, Taishi Ci will forcefully push the opponent continuously before sending them high into the air via upward cross swipe.
Grapple Charge: L1 + Triangle: Crouches down before unleashing a wide swipe with both rods outstretched upon standing. If it connects, Taishi Ci will kick the opponent down and plunge his weapons on them while hopping forward, triggering a fiery explosion.
Counter Attack: Counter + L1 + Square: Swings left rod slightly upward and right rod somewhat lower to repel enemy attacks.
Counter Charge: Counter + L1 + Triangle: Raises both rods in a crosswise manner and delivers a double ascending swing.
Deadlock Attack: Deadlock + Square: Upon winning a deadlock, Taishi Ci will use his rods to grab hold of the opponent, lift them up, and toss them down behind him before following up with a knocking swing. The impact of the toss also creates a shockwave effect that sends nearby foes flying.

Horse Charge Attack: Triangle: Delivers an anticipated cross strike to both sides while on horseback. Can be performed while in the middle of doing the normal horse attack string.
Horse Normal Attack: Square Square Square Square Square Square: Does repeated circular swings to the right. The number of hits can be increased by filling up the Renbu gauge.

Strong Attack 1 (Break): Slams both rods on the earth sideways before bringing them up to generate a fiery pillar of energy in front of Taishi Ci. Inflicts 210% attack damage to opponents. Its bonus effect allows it to deal an additional 380% attack damage on hit and greatly reduces their super armor bar. The effect itself triggers every 30 seconds.
Strong Attack 1 (Armor): Does a short but powerful tackle while holding both weapons forward sideways. Deals 100% attack damage and is easy to use within a large crowd. Rage Attack: Jabs rods forward one by one repeatedly while stepping forward, making it reminiscent of Taishi Ci's Musou attack from previous installments. At the end of the move, Taishi Ci lifts the enemy into the air and unleashes a large energy shockwave that blows them back.
True Rage Attack: Performing a 100-hit combo in the middle of a Rage attack will have Taishi Ci swipe diagonally back and forth several times with streaks of electricity surging from each hit. It ends with him beating the enemy through more horizontal strikes before launching the default finisher.

Main Attacks
Strong Attack 1 - Tiger Charge (猛虎突刺; lit. "Fierce Tiger Charging Stab"): Unleashes a large funnel of wind that deals damage to foes from a distance while lowering their defense power. Has a cooldown time of 20 seconds (12 seconds in the Japanese server).
Strong Attack 2 - Deadly Flurry (致命連撃; lit. "Fatal Chain Attack"): Hits enemies with a flurry of swipes before stabbing the ground to generate a wide impactful shockwave, sending nearby foes flying. Has a cooldown time of 25 seconds (16 seconds in the Japanese server).
Strong Attack 3 - Martial Blow (真武打撃; lit. "True Martial Strike Attack"): Swings one rod to the left, then pounces at the opponent with great power while surrounded by swirling orange-colored energy. Has a stun effect that lasts a few seconds. Has a cooldown time of 31 seconds (16 seconds in the Japanese server).
Strong Attack 4 - Raging Storm (狂風気勁; lit. "Wild Storm Spirit Vigor"): Unleashes a swing to the upper right before producing a fiery helix by thrusting both rods forward. The helix itself expands into a traveling air blast once Taishi Ci pounds the ground afterwards. In the Japanese server, it deals additional shield damage. Has a cooldown time of 38 seconds (24 seconds in the Japanese server).
Normal Attack: Performs their preferred weapon's normal attack string.
Special Attacks
Musou Attack - Air Cannon X (真・旋風砲; lit. "True Whirlwind Cannon"): Lifts enemies up with a blunt thrust before enveloping them within a giant red tornado. Gets overriden by the character's Rage attack once all three Musou gauges have been filled up.
Musou Rage Attack: Performs Rage attack once all three Musou gauges have been filled up.
Switch Attack: Slams both rods on the earth to create a powerful tremor effect.
Special Maneuver - Repel: Knocks away surrounding foes and stuns them.

Triple Attack 1: Performs a shortened version of Deadly Flurry to contribute to the combo.

While retaining the same moveset from Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends, Taishi Ci wields the Mjölnir as their sacred treasure in this title. When equipped with it, Taishi Ci can perform the following attacks listed below.

Special Attacks
Musou Attack: Circle: Taishi Ci performs Air Cannon as their ground Musou attack.
Normal Magic: R1 + Square: Flings Mjölnir forward towards the ground, emitting a powerful electric burst. Enemies sent airborne by this attack get struck by brief lightning bolts afterwards. The bolts themselves are able to hit downed foes, but can be guarded against. This magic is compatible with characters who specialize in fast attacks.
Charge Magic: R1 + Triangle: Jumps into the air and conjures a magic circle that calls down lightning to smite foes on a designated spot. Can be aimed by having a target appear on the ground via zoomed-in lock-on view.
Unique Magic: R1 + Circle: Taishi Ci expands Mjölnir by drawing out its power to unleash a leftward swing that causes golden lightning bolts to radially fly out from a single point, scattering surrounding foes instantly. In the Japanese script, he gives the attack a name (万雷招; lit. "Ten Thousand Lightning Incitement").
Summon Magic: R1 + X: Summons mount to Taishi Ci's side.

Taishi Ci is affiliated with the twin rods in this title. When equipped with it, Taishi Ci can perform the following unique attacks listed below.

Unique Attacks
Unique Flow Attack Finisher: Enemy Stunned + Square Square Square Square: Lands a round leftward swing followed by a leaping ground stab that causes an updraft to briefly generate. Can be used to set up a mid-air flow attack.
Unique Trigger Attack: R1 + Square: Thrusts both rods forward to release a funnel of wind that dazes foes in front of Taishi Ci. Bears some similarities to his fourth charge attack from older games.
Special Technique: R1 + Circle: Plants both rods on the ground, causing a flaming radial shockwave to erupt from Taishi Ci's location. After standing up again, he then unleashes two powerful fiery jabs with the last hit stunning foes. The attack's initial hit is more effective against foes that have been downed or sent airborne.
Musou Attack: Circle: Jabs rods forward one by one repeatedly while stepping forth at a rhythmic pace. Taishi Ci then thrusts both his weapons forward to create a large funnel of wind in front of him, blowing foes away while inflicting them with wind damage. This move incorporates both Taishi Ci's Rage attack and Air Cannon Musou from the previous game.
Aerial Musou Attack: X Circle: Launches a fierce downward with right-handed rod, a fiery diagonal swing to the lower right using the other rod, and ground stab using both weapons to produce a fire-based tremor. Based on Taishi Ci's Boulder Drop Musou from the past installment.
Horse Maneuvers
Summon Horse: L2: Summon horse to the battlefield. Holding L2 as the horse approaches will allow the character to automatically mount them.
Auto-Run: Riding Mode + L2: Automatically runs towards a specified destination. If a destination has not been set, the horse will instead run towards the location of the player's currently selected mission.
Sprint: Riding Mode + Direction + R1: Causes horse to run at a faster pace. Doing so depletes their stamina each time.
Jump: Riding Mode + Direction + R2: Causes horse to jump high while running.
Horse Fast Attack: Riding Mode + Square: Performs a fast and seamless attack while mounted. The attack itself varies depending on what type of weapon is equipped and whether the enemy is grounded or airborne.
Horse Trigger Attack: Riding Mode + Triangle: Performs an attack that sends enemies flying into the air. May vary depending on what type of weapon is equipped.
Horse Musou Attack: Riding Mode + Circle: Causes horse to sprint by consuming Musou instead of stamina.
Dismount Horse: Riding Mode + X: Dismounts from horse and resumes default fighting stance.
Bow Maneuvers
Shooting Mode: 🡻: Pulls out bow and assumes archery stance. Can be cancelled by tapping 🡻 again.
Switch Arrows: 🡸 or 🡺: Switches between different types of arrows.
