Fighting Style

Keys: Square Normal Attack • Triangle Charge Attack Circle Musou X Jump/Mount
Main Attacks
Charge Attack 1: Triangle: Manipulates fan to spin around Sima Yi in a clockwise motion. Can break through the enemy's defenses.
Charge Attack 2: Square Triangle: Hurls fan upward, enabling it to scoop nearby foes along the way.
Charge Attack 3: Square Square Triangle: Fires a purple laser that dazes foes from a considerable distance.
Charge Attack 4: Square Square Square Triangle: Telekinetically hurls fan forward, causing it to swerve from right to left repeatedly while knocking away any approaching foe. The fan's overall trajectory can be manipulated for a time. Inflicts lightning elemental damage if Sima Yi is equipped with his fourth weapon.
Charge Attack 5: Square Square Square Square Triangle: Manipulates fan into levitating upwards while scooping enemies along the way. Tapping Triangle again will have Sima Yi float up and cast his targets down with a fan toss.
Charge Attack 6: Square Square Square Square Square Triangle: Conjures mystic runes that fire purple lasers to the front, right, left, and front again.
Normal Attack 1: Square Square Square Square: Delivers a short rightward swing, a strike to the upper left, a diagonal swipe in the other direction, and a spin slash that knocks foes away.

True Musou Attack: Low Health + Circle: Similar to the normal Musou animation, but fires three lasers forward before unleashing several more in a frontal arc.
Auxiliary Attacks
Dash Attack: Dashing + Square: Manipulates fan into swerving back and forth in front of Sima Yi as he hovers on the ground.
Jump Attack: X Square: Telekinetically throws fan downward before catching it back.
Power Guard: L1 + Square: Pushes an attacking enemy back to create some distance from them.
Horse Attacks
Horse Charge Attack: Triangle: Performs powerful swipes to the left and right while on horseback. Can be performed while in the middle of doing the normal horse attack string.
Horse Normal Attack: Square Square Square Square Square Square: Swats foes away with fan swings done to the left and right repeatedly.
Horse Musou Attack: Circle: Delivers fierce swipes done continuously.
Bow Attacks
Normal Shot: Hold R1 + Square: Shoots a normal arrow.
Charge Shot: Hold R1 + Triangle: Fires a charged shot that dazes the target.
Musou Shot: Hold R1 + Circle: Unleashes a Musou-powered arrow that knocks enemies down. Can fire multiple shots rapidly so long as the user has enough Musou.

Fighting Style

Sima Yi's fighting style is similar to his rival Zhuge Liang at first glance, though the two of them have some differences that set them apart.

Main Attacks
Charge Attack 1: Triangle: Waves fan around to shoot an elemental projectile. Can be powered up to fire three or five simultaneous shots at once with an orb equipped. Causes grounded foes to either collapse and airborne foes to be flung away. Note that this attack cannot pierce through enemy crowds, so caution is advised when using it even with a high-leveled orb. If Sima Yi is equipped with any maximized orb except for fire or lightning, he will be able to shoot five projectiles by default.
Charge Attack 2: Square Triangle: Hurls fan upward, enabling it to scoop nearby foes along the way.
Charge Attack 3: Square Square Triangle: Fires a purple laser that dazes foes from a considerable distance. Has some homing capabilities, making it even more useful than its earlier incarnation. Tap Triangle repeatedly for additional hits.
Charge Attack 4: Square Square Square Triangle: Telekinetically hurls fan forward, causing it to swerve from right to left repeatedly while knocking away any approaching foe. Unlike in the previous title, Sima Yi will quickly hover back as the fan travels forth, making it difficult to maneuver. To compensate, a button input extension has been added in which Sima Yi will hover forward with his fan circling around him clockwise to knock more enemies aside.
Charge Attack 5: Square Square Square Square Triangle: Manipulates fan into levitating upwards while scooping enemies along the way. Tapping Triangle again will have Sima Yi float up and cast his targets down with a fan toss.
Charge Attack 6: Square Square Square Square Square Triangle: Fires purple lasers to the front, right, left, and front again. Has some homing capabilities.

Parry: L1 + Triangle: Instantly performs the unextended fourth charge attack to counter incoming blows.
Announcement: R3: Sima Yi surrounds himself with glowing purple runes, letting out a radial wave that breaks the guard of nearby foes and leaving them staggered for a brief moment of time. Aura may change color in Free Mode to match the user's chosen side.
Horse Attacks

Dynasty Warriors Advance

Sima Yi is a unique NPC who fights with his own moveset in this title.

Normal Attack: B: Levitates fan forward and fires a purple laser beam imbued with the ice element. Because it counts as an indirect attack, players can mitigate its damage output by equipping certain weapons with the right bonus stats. The fan's animation can also hit targets that are too close to Sima Yi.

Samurai Warriors: State of War

Sima Yi gains an additional skill in this title.

Sub-Officer Skill - Thunder 3: Starts a battle with the Thunder 3 charm which damages foes while reducing their movement to one and decresing their morale by a great amount.
Charge Attack 1: Triangle: Hits foe with free hand. Has very narrow range.
Charge Attack 3: Square Square Triangle: Releases a white projectile that bounces through walls.
Charge Attack 6: Square Square Square Square Square Triangle: Shoots three vertical energy disks at different trajectories depending on which direction Sima Yi is facing.
Musou Attack: Circle: Fires a series of vertical energy disks while remaining stationary until Musou runs out. Similar to the Musou attacks employed by the Samurai Warriors cast, a shockwave burst is added at the end of the finisher.
Jump Charge: X Triangle: Shoots white projectile at a wider distance.
Roll: R: Rolls on the ground to evade enemy attacks.

Fighting Style

When controlled by the AI, Sima Yi's charge attacks will be imbued with the poison element by default.

Main Attacks
Charge Attack 1: Triangle: Fires an ice orb that freezes enemies after exploding. Will instantly detonate upon touching nearby walls. Cannot activate other elemental effects provided by orbs.
Charge Attack 2: Square Triangle: Hurls fan upward, enabling it to scoop nearby foes along the way. Cannot activate elemental effects provided by orbs.
Charge Attack 3: Square Square Triangle: Fires a purple laser that dazes foes from a considerable distance.
Charge Attack 4: Square Square Square Triangle: Telekinetically hurls fan forward, causing it to swerve from right to left repeatedly while knocking away any approaching foe. Although the attack causes Sima Yi to hover back, tapping Triangle again will make him zip forward with his fan circling around him clockwise.
Charge Attack 5: Square Square Square Square Triangle: Throws up left arm to conjure a large purple sphere rising up. Launches opponents into the air at a higher altitude.
Charge Attack 6: Square Square Square Square Square Triangle: Fires purple lasers to the front, right, left, and front again.

Auxiliary Attacks
Dash Attack: Dashing + Square: Manipulates fan into swerving back and forth in front of Sima Yi as he hovers on the ground.
Jump Attack: X Square: Telekinetically throws fan downward before catching it back.
Jump Charge: X Triangle: Sima Yi does a quick outstretched pose in mid-air with fan revolving around him, then slams the ground to produce a radial shockwave that knocks enemies away. Unlike most aerial attacks, this move will not replenish the player's Musou.
Parry: L1 + Triangle: Instantly performs the unextended fourth charge attack to counter incoming blows.

Skill - Defend: Allows the character to be more impervious to enemy attacks.
Proposed Policy 1 - Development: Promotes industry within areas under the player's control, developing new items for production.
Proposed Policy 2 - Entice Enemy: Asks an officer of another force to defect during a battle. Valid only for 1 turn.
Proposed Policy 3 - Point Increase: Doubles the experience received by the player's controlled officer following a battle. Valid only for 1 turn. Policy will also be in effect automatically when participating in special battles.

Dynasty Warriors: Online

Although Sima Yi's moveset is available for player avatars to make use of, the actual character can be temporarily controlled by using their corresponding spirit item.

Obstacle Effect 1 - Stun: Slows down the movement of enemy troops for a set time.
Obstacle Effect 2 - Earthquake: Causes the ground to shake, damaging all enemies onscreen. Only available to obstacle card version.
Obstacle Effect 3 - Great Earthquake: Causes the ground to shake, greatly damaging all enemies onscreen. Only available to rare card version.

Charge Attack 5: Square Square Square Square Triangle: Functions similarly to its base game incarnation. However, its overall range has been slightly reduced.
Charge Attack 6: Square Square Square Square Square Triangle: Functions similarly to its base game incarnation, but can no longer inflict elemental damage. This has been rectified in the sequel.
New Attacks
Special Attack 1: R1: Conjures an array of icicles to rain down on the area forward. Has a chance to freeze foes solid. Consumes 80 Musou points. Warriors Orochi 2 lessens this attack's damage output, but compensates for it by lowering its Musou consumption cost.
Special Attack 2: Direction + R1: Hurls a block of ice forward with own free hand. Has a chance to freeze foes solid. Does not consume Musou.
Aerial Thrust: X X: Sima Yi performs an aerial twirl while jumping to travel at a slightly further distance than normal.
Team Abilities
Ability 1 - Technique: Increases attack of Technique-type characters.
Ability 2 - Awakening: Increases damage done by Musou-based attacks.
Ability 3 - Conserve: Decreases Musou consumption rate.

Warriors Orochi 2

Team Attacks
Assist Attack: Counter + L1 + Square or Triangle: Sima Yi performs his fourth charge attack to assist a teammate. Consumes a portion of Musou.
Triple Attack 1: Low Health + L2 + R2 + Circle: Sends out a fierce gust of air traveling forward.
Triple Attack 2: Low Health + L2 + R2 + Circle: Conjures a massive column of wind surrounding the area.
Triple Attack 3: Low Health + L2 + R2 + Circle: Causes strong winds to come up from the ground while levitating.
Triple Attack Finisher: Sima Yi unleashes a barrage of rapid swipes before levitating his fan and firing a large purple laser forward. As the whole team finishes up, a bright pillar of light generates at the intersection of their attack range and engulfs the surrounding area. Enemies caught by the blast sustain massive damage while being flung to the air and set on fire.
Unique Triple Attack: Low Health + L2 + R2 + Circle: Should Sima Yi be paired up with Zhuge Liang and Zhou Yu, the three of them will perform a unique triple attack that showcases their individual abilities. Sima Yi contributes to the combo by unleashing energy rays to juggle his victims. Afterwards, he then forms a connection with the other two strategists to produce a large pillar of light that inflicts massive damage to surrounding foes.
Strategy - Command: Raises the morale of allied forces.

Fighting Style

When controlled by the AI in Dynasty Warriors 5, most of Sima Yi's charge attacks will be imbued with the ice element by default.

Due to Sima Yi gaining more ice attacks in Warriors Orochi, it may be superfluous to imbue his weapon with the Ice attribute. Instead, players ought to give him a combination of Bolt, Flash, Slay, and Agility, turning him into a devastating crowd clearer.

Base Game

Main Attacks
Square Renbu String 1: Whips out wires to the left and right, then turns them upward and forward.
Square Renbu String 2: Similar to the first Square Renbu string, but adds multiple diagonal spin slashes.
Square Renbu String 3: Similar to the second Square Renbu string, but includes several frontal wire lashes followed by a spinning attack that hits twice.
Square Renbu String Infinite: Similar to the third Square Renbu string, but ends the cycle by waving right claw in a continuous looping motion while sending out diagonal ice energy waves forward.
Triangle Renbu String 1: Shoots right claw's wires forward twice in a row.
Triangle Renbu String 2: Similar to the first Triangle Renbu string, but adds another wire shot from left claw.
Triangle Renbu String 3: Similar to the second Triangle Renbu string, but extends the combo by sending wires to the ground to trigger a powerful tremor.
Triangle Renbu String Infinite: Similar to the third Triangle Renbu string, but ends the combo by sending out a cross-shaped ice wave forward while generating a dome of frigid energy around the area. The ice attribute is seemingly absent in the PSP port, rendering the move only useful for crowd clearing.
Charge Attack: Holding Triangle: Pivots around while letting both claws unleash their wires. Raising Sima Yi's Renbu level to 3 will cause the attack to produce three ice orbs that slowly detonate while moving in a fan arc. Gaining infinite Renbu adds one more ice orb for a total of four. This additional effect makes it an improved version of Sima Yi's old first charge attack from Dynasty Warriors 5.
Musou Attacks
Musou Attack: Circle: Does an empowered version of the first to third Square Renbu string repeatedly with Sima Yi ending the cycle by planting several wires on the ground, then unleashing both a cross-shaped ice wave forward and a frigid current radiating around the vicinity.
True Musou Attack: Low Health + Circle: Similar to the regular Musou attack, but adds the fire attribute to each hit.
Auxiliary Attacks
Dash Attack: Dashing + Square: Swings right claw with the wires slapping foes in their path.
Dash Charge: Dashing + Triangle: Briefly stops with both arms outstretched as wires come out to hit both sides.
Jump Attack: X Square: Releases wires in an outward manner while leaping.
Jump Charge: X Triangle: Produces a tremor by smacking the ground with one set of wires after landing.
Evasion: R1: Does an aerial flip forward to evade enemy attacks.
Special Move - Rockfall: L2: Causes large boulders to fall from the sky and damage groups of enemies below. When used on top of slopes, the boulders will roll down and inflict even more damage.
Grapple Attacks
Grapple Attack: L1 + Square: Unleashes wires forward with right claw. If the attack connects, Sima Yi will use the wires to drag his opponent closer before impaling them with the whole claw and shoving them violently with the other one.
Grapple Charge: L1 + Triangle: Causes wires to come out in a straight line while crossing both arms. Upon connecting a foe with the move, Sima Yi will extend the wires while spinning the victim within it repeatedly. The wires are eventually cut loose and the target immediately collapses on the floor.
Counter Attack: Counter + L1 + Square: Raises both arms in a crosswise manner while letting out several wires.
Counter Charge: Counter + L1 + Triangle: Swings one set of wires towards the right before raising the other to perform a spin slash.
Deadlock Attack: Deadlock + Square: Upon winning a deadlock, Sima Yi will implant wires on the opponent's body, lift them up and down repeatedly, and violently drop them on the ground while producing a tremor.
Horse Attacks
Horse Charge Attack: Triangle: Sends out both sets of wires downward to each side simultaneously. Can be performed while in the middle of doing the normal horse attack string.
Horse Normal Attack: Square Square Square Square Square Square: Swings right claw's wires back and forth to the right while on horseback. The number of hits can be increased by filling up the Renbu gauge.
Horse Musou Attack: Circle: Delivers a series of wire swings to the right before unleashing more wires to each side as the finishing touch to the move.
Officer Skills
Evade: Increases movement speed for 30 seconds when knocked down and near death.
Ice Resist: Nullifies ice elemental attacks.
Sprint: Increases movement speed temporarily by running continuously.
Extension: Lengthens the duration of power-up items found on the battlefield.
Victor's Aura: Increases the chances of success for raids and keeps enemies confused for a longer period of time.
Special Start: Allows character to begin each battle with one tome.
Bonus Special: Receives one tome for defeating 300 enemies each time.
Pouch: Allows character to carry up to 2 tomes while making them appear more frequently.
Bag: Allows character to carry up to 3 tomes while making them appear much more frequently.
Tome Skills
Hinder: Reduces speed of nearby enemies upon activating special move.
Command: Improves the morale of allies and adds their KO count to the character's own.
Boulders: Increases damage inflicted by Rockfall.
Heavy Boulders: Greatly increases damage inflicted by Rockfall.

Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires

Sima Yi gains additional abilities and traits in this title.

Special Move - Ice: Freezes enemies momentarily.
Additional Move - True Speed: Allows the user to continuously perform running attacks while receiving a slight boost in attack power and hit speed. Also increases speed of horse if activated while riding. Sima Yi sprints forth continuously and positions his claws to the front to prepare potential attacks.
True Speed Attack: True Speed + Square: Swings both claws outward, sending out wires arcing to each side.
True Speed Charge: True Speed + Triangle: Does a stronger version of the dash charge attack.
Officer Card - Total Preparation (準備万端): Restores troops by half of the difference between current and maximum numbers. Effective for 3 months.

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce

Skills
Fury Awakening Aura: Conjures a magic circle generating dark purple energy and black feathers to activate fury form. Can be imbued with additional effects via certain chi skills.
Type Skill - Float: Enables the user to float in mid-air by holding X. Only available in Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce.
Support Skill - Health Recovery: Restores an ally's health by a moderate amount. Only available in Shin Sangoku Musou Multi Raid 2.
Team Ability - Speed Boost: Increases movement speed. Only available in Shin Sangoku Musou Multi Raid 2.

Enemy-Only Attacks
Shockwave Attack: Unleashes a small radial shockwave to repel nearby foes while providing additional breathing room for incoming attacks. Only used in Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce.
Enemy-Only Attack: Charges up and fires several long lasers traveling at multiple directions. Only used in Shin Sangoku Musou Multi Raid 2.

Fighting Style

In Dynasty Warriors 6, Sima Yi's weapon of choice are gloves that protrude long and thin wires from his fingertips. Despite the claws' small and fragile appearance, the wires that protrude from them have good range. He gains a good amount of crowd control attacks, especially during higher Renbu levels, and relies considerably less on magic than before. In some ways, he resembles a long-range character, as his attack efficiency is somewhat weakened while he is close to opponents. However, this setback can be bypassed if the player has mastered when to properly evade.

When controlled by the AI in Strikeforce, Sima Yi's attacks will be imbued with the earth element by default.

Musou Attack: A: Sima Yi performs Spider Web as their ground Musou attack.
Musou Rush: Hold A: Sima Yi duels an enemy officer through one of several mini-games that tests their individual reflexes against one another. Should the opponent lose, Sima Yi will briefly stun his opponent before letting out wads of threads which he uses to claw at the target repeatedly before suspending them in the air with a spiraling beam of thread. As Sima Yi faces away from the target, he tightens his left fist upward to make the thread trigger an explosion. If the opponent wins, Sima Yi will tumble back on the ground without hurting their target. This also happens after winning a Musou Rush mini-game initiated by the opponent. Can only be used if a hostile officer happens to be nearby.

Its bonus effect enables the first hit to deal 44% attack damage to elite enemies while inflicting them with a debuff that increases the amount of damage they take by 18% for 8 seconds.
Strong Attack 1 (Break): Conjures a purple lightning bolt to daze foes and wear down their defenses. Deals 140% attack damage. Its bonus effect allows it to deal an additional 380% attack damage on hit and greatly reduces their super armor bar. The effect itself triggers every 30 seconds.
Strong Attack 1 (Armor): Levitates fan to the front and makes it spin to unleash surges of electric energy, causing 160% attack damage to enemies. Its bonus effect grants nearby friendly units a shield that adds a 9% bonus to their health, a 30% damage reduction, and a minor super armor effect. It lasts for 8 seconds and triggers every 40 seconds.
Strong Attack 1 (Gather): Summons yin yang diagrams on the ground twice before sending down a bolt of purple lightning in front of Sima Yi. Inflicts 220% attack damage to surrounding enemies. Its bonus effect deals an additional 18% damage to all enemy troops within range and pulls them closer to the user. The effect itself triggers every 10 seconds.
Strong Attack 2: Creates a pillar of electricity that sends foes in front airborne while inflicting 130% attack damage.
Strong Attack 3: Quickly generates four purple gashes at different directions before conjuring a gravity dome to engulf foes. Deals a total of 160% attack damage. This move borrows elements from his weapon movesets in the sixth and eighth games.
Strong Attack 4: Attacks foes energy-infused fan toss while swiftly hovering back for safety. Deals 170% attack damage and is based on the first half of his old fourth charge attack.
Strong Attack 5: Hovers forward while fan continuously rotates counterclockwise. It ends with Sima Yi stopping in time to unleash a pillar of dark energy around him, dealing 180% attack damage to surrounding foes and knocking them into the air. This move is based on the second half of his old fourth charge attack.
Strong Attack 6: Creates a purple glyph that fires a large laser beam while levitating in the air. Inflicts a total of 400% attack damage towards enemies in front of Sima Yi and can be maneuvered.
Normal Attack 1: Swings fan rightward to release a purple wind blade, hitting enemies with 70% attack damage.
Normal Attack 2: Works similarly to the first normal attack and even has the same damage output, but is aligned more to the left.

EX Attack: Summons five electric shockwaves surging on the ground at diverging directions around Sima Yi. Inflicts 440% attack damage on foes while having a chance of inflicting the electric induction status on them.
Musou Attack: Performing a rendition of his Spider Web Musou attack, Sima Yi conjures strings from his left hand and drags enemies closer to him. If the attack connects, the victims are subjected to devastating string slashes that explode into a flurry of bright gashes, dealing 1,050 attack damage in the process.

Dash Attack: Hovers slightly upward in the air while shrouded within a purple whirlwind.
Switch Attack: Quickly hovers down and swipes fan diagonally upward to the upper left. Only used in certain competitive modes.

Cards Up Sleeve: Causes charge attack to generate one of three elemental effects that activate upon performing a normal hit. Gale fires a wind blade while increasing Musou regeneration speed by 400%. Thunder interrupts the target's attacks and reduces their super armor by 300 points while providing Sima Yi with his own super armor effect and boosting his anti-blocking output by 240 points. Dim spreads dark flames that deal 47% attack damage while inflicting one stack of dark mark on the target (two if they happen to be collapsed at the time of being hit). The dark mark renders the victim 36% more vulnerable to dark flames for 30 seconds and can be stacked up to 12 times. Each elemental enchantment has a cooldown time of 12 seconds.
Leadership at a Distance: Gains a 30% penetration bonus for 4 seconds upon attacking collapsed or stunned enemies.
Musou Tactics
Musou Tactic 1: Causes charge attack to generate one of three elemental effects that activate upon performing a normal hit. Gale fires a wind blade while increasing Musou regeneration speed by 720%. Under Musou Mode state, three moving walls of wind are released upon triggering the effect. Thunder interrupts the target's attacks and reduces their super armor by 480 points while providing Sima Yi with his own super armor effect and boosting his anti-blocking output by 368 points. Under Musou Mode state, the effect inflicts a stronger variation of the electric induction debuff that causes targets to receive more damage from additional hits. Dim spreads dark flames that deal 61% attack damage while inflicting one stack of dark mark on the target (two if they happen to be collapsed at the time of being hit). The dark mark renders the victim 57% more vulnerable to dark flames for 30 seconds and can be stacked up to 12 times. Each elemental enchantment has a cooldown time of 12 seconds.
Musou Tactic 2: Causes the Dim effect's dark flames to inflict the burn ailment on foes upon contact. Under Musou Mode state, dark flames will automatically be attached to nearby enemies, dealing true damage equal to 40% of attack and reducing super armor by 62.5 per second for 3 seconds.
Musou Tactic 3: Causes first normal hit to trigger selected elemental effect during Musou Mode phase, allowing them to be launched via the third and fifth hits.
Musou Tactic 4: Increases penetration on collapsed or stunned enemies by 36%. Can also extend Musou Mode form by 1 second with a cooldown time equivalent to that amount of time.
Combat Soul Skills
Heaven Combat Soul Skill: Enhances dark flames by causing it to inflict 2 stacks of dark mark on the target and trigger elemental embers. The effects of these embers vary upon interacting with one of the three effects utilized by Sima Yi's Cards Up Sleeve tactic. For Gale, the dark flames receive expanded range and deal 58% bonus damage while carrying over the element's on-hit effect. If it hits an enemy with 8 dark mark stacks, any remaining target will receive 10 stacks of the dark mark. For Thunder, the embers interaction with it increases dark flame damage by 50% and reduces cooldown time of next EX attack by 8 seconds, all within a duration time of 5 seconds. For Dim, it increases dark flame damage by 98% within 10 seconds and imbues attacks with a chance to deal bonus dark flame damage equivalent to 80% of attack. Bonuses increase the higher the combat soul's ranking rises. Upon attaining Musou Mode, it adds the ability of triggering the Dim elemental effect every 4 seconds.
Earth Combat Soul Skill: Enhances the elemental effects utilized by Sima Yi's Cards Up Sleeve tactic. For Gale, normal attacks will fire two wind blades instead of one while restoring health equal to 22% of attack for every enemy officer struck by it. For Thunder, it reduces the super armor of targets by 300 and stiffens them if they collapse from its initial effects. For Dim, it causes each dark mark stack to reduce the target's defense by 1.3%. Bonuses increase the higher the combat soul's ranking rises. Upon attaining Musou Mode, it also adds block points for Thunder and increases penetration within 6 seconds for Dim.
Human Combat Soul Skill: Causes EX attacks and Musou attacks to trigger the Dim elemental effect while increasing dark flame damage by 180%. Bonus increases the higher the combat soul's ranking rises. Upon attaining Musou Mode, its effects merely intensify to greater amounts.
Star Combat Soul Skill: Reduces the cooldown time of elemental effects by 0.5 to 3 seconds upon performing all charge attacks and EX attacks. Also increases attack by 10% for 4 seconds. Both bonuses increase the higher the combat soul's ranking rises. Upon attaining Musou Mode, it causes normal attacks to initially deal more damage than usual for 4 seconds.
Skin Skills
Suit Skill: Increases defense by 4% for 20 seconds upon activating Element Enchantment. Effects can be stacked and their duration time is independent from one another.
Ornament Skill: Enhances the Element Enchantment effect with different buffs for 10 seconds. Gale gains the ability to restore health in proportion to 1.3% of attack, Thunder grants an additional effect of restoring 8 blocking points, and Dim is supplemented with a 5% damage bonus.

Unique Triple Rush: If Sima Yi is paired up with his sons Sima Shi and Sima Zhao, they will be able to do a unique triple rush together. For his part, he ends the combo by hurling his fan downward and causing to spin fast enough to produce a whirlwind on the ground.

He will always land sooner than any of his foes, giving him a chance to prepare another attack as they fall down. Introduced in Xtreme Legends.
Musou Attack - Spider Web (陥穽糸; lit. "Pitfall Threads"): Circle: After performing his signature laugh, Sima Yi paralyzes the target in front of him within a wad of blue-tinted wires. As they struggle to move, he triggers a frontal explosion to knock them and other nearby foes back.
Alternate Musou Attack - Annihilation (重減陣; lit. "Weight Reduce Array"): R1 + Circle: Conjures a dome of dark energy that pull in nearby enemies and launches them up into the air. The hitbox is placed a bit far ahead of Sima Yi, allowing him to hit behind targets at point-blank range. Can be aimed mid-animation and the hitbox always stays in front of Sima Yi throughout.
Aerial Musou Attack - Flash Snare (拘束糸; lit. "Constraining Threads"): X Circle: Throws ice threads down onto a group of enemies, causing many of them to be sent airborne.
Rage Attack: Swats weapon multiple times while being surrounded by a large whirlwind. At the end of the attack, Sima Yi slowly lifts the enemy up before violently throwing them back via radial burst of energy.
True Rage Attack: Upon gaining 100 hits during his Rage attack, Sima Yi will begin hovering in the air with the whirlwind now coated in red electrical surges, adding in a few swirling hits once the attack sequence comes to a close.

Strong Attack 2 - Gravity Fiber Bomb (重力散絲弾; lit. "Gravity Powered Scattering Silk Bomb"): Creates a gravity well that sucks in surrounding enemies to slow them down, then launches a piercing projectile followed by two vacuum spheres. In the Japanese server, this move can also lower mobility momentarily. Has a cooldown time of 16 seconds (also 16 seconds in the Japanese server).
Strong Attack 3 - Thunderous Blossom (紫電散華; lit. "Purple Thunder Scattering Blossoms"): Conjures a harsh vortex that weakens the defense of surrounding foes before sending down several lightning bolts within the vicinity. Has a cooldown time of 20 seconds (16 seconds in the Japanese server).
Strong Attack 4 - Dark Electric (暗電独覇; lit. "Dark Thunder Isolated Supremacy"): Summons a lightning bolt to rain down near the front before conjuring a field of electricity while slowly levitating. The Japanese server also gives this attack a 3 second life draining effect, giving Sima Yi a means to prolong himself in more difficult battles. Has a cooldown time of 25 seconds (18 seconds in the Japanese server).
Normal Attack: Performs their preferred weapon's normal attack string.
Special Attacks
Musou Attack - Annihilation (重減陣; lit. "Weight Reduce Array"): Creates a mighty gravity field that continuously attacks foes before sending them flying. The Japanese server also gives this move a debuff that reduces the enemy's attack power by 50% for 5 seconds. Gets overriden by the character's Rage attack once all three Musou gauges have been filled up.
Musou Rage Attack: Performs Rage attack once all three Musou gauges have been filled up.
Switch Attack: Generates a small blue gravitational field on the ground momentarily before descending.
Special Maneuver - Shield: Projects a barrier to negate damage and debuffs.

While retaining the same moveset from Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends, Sima Yi wields the Dáinsleif as their sacred treasure in this title. When equipped with it, Sima Yi can perform the following attacks listed below.

Special Attacks
Musou Attack: Circle: Sima Yi performs Spider Web as their ground Musou attack.
Normal Magic: R1 + Square: Conjures a magic circle by raising Dáinsleif upward, releasing a radial shockwave and generating three clones of the user to aid them in battle. The clones themselves will act on their own before bursting into smoke after 13 seconds have passed. Since they count as separate units, the player will be able to benefit from their presence if equipped with a weapon that has the Assembly attribute.
Charge Magic: R1 + Triangle: Targets visible enemies within a horizontal line regardless of distance. Once locked on and activated, the targets are swept into the air before being knocked away via leftward slash. This attack cannot be blocked and will even hit downed foes.
Unique Magic: R1 + Circle: Sima Yi entraps his opponents within a gravity field before telekinetically manipulating Dáinsleif to pierce through it from above.
Summon Magic: R1 + X: Summons mount to Sima Yi's side.

Sima Yi is affiliated with the war fan in this title. When equipped with it, Sima Yi can perform the following unique attacks listed below.

Unique Attacks
Unique Flow Attack Finisher: Enemy Stunned + Square Square Square Square: Sima Yi dashes back briefly before hovering forward while his fan revolves around him rapidly, sending enemies flying to the air. This move is based on Sima Yi's signature fourth charge attack from the older games.
Unique Trigger Attack: R1 + Square: Fires three purple lasers towards the front, right, and left, then generates a minor radial shockwave. Each part of the attack stuns foes for a brief moment. The move itself is based on Sima Yi's original sixth charge attack (C6) from the older titles.
Special Technique: R1 + Circle: Leans forward to point with his fan to send out a large whirlwind before following-up by raising his hands, unleashing a radial array of threads forward. Can inflict wind damage on nearby enemies. Motions between both moves are respectively based on the Horsehair Whip's third charge attack (C3) from the prior title leading straight into Sima Yi's prior first EX Attack (C3-EX), only he uses the quote for his Annihilation Musou Attack in the Japanese script.
Musou Attack: Circle: Continuously swings fan in a looping motion, causing small tornadoes to constantly erupt with each hit while walking. Sima Yi then repeatedly unleashes several purple lasers that individually track down nearby foes with the last set released while leaping up. This move pays homage to Sima Yi's old Musou attack from previous titles, but it uses the quotes from both his prior C3-EX and Spider Web Musou Attack in that order.
Aerial Musou Attack: X Circle: Conjures wads of ice threads that freeze foes below solid before causing them to outright collapse in agony. Based on Sima Yi's Flash Snare Musou Attack from the more recent games.
Horse Maneuvers
Summon Horse: L2: Summon horse to the battlefield. Holding L2 as the horse approaches will allow the character to automatically mount them.
Auto-Run: Riding Mode + L2: Automatically runs towards a specified destination. If a destination has not been set, the horse will instead run towards the location of the player's currently selected mission.
Sprint: Riding Mode + Direction + R1: Causes horse to run at a faster pace. Doing so depletes their stamina each time.
Jump: Riding Mode + Direction + R2: Causes horse to jump high while running.
Horse Fast Attack: Riding Mode + Square: Performs a fast and seamless attack while mounted. The attack itself varies depending on what type of weapon is equipped and whether the enemy is grounded or airborne.
Horse Trigger Attack: Riding Mode + Triangle: Performs an attack that sends enemies flying into the air. May vary depending on what type of weapon is equipped.
Horse Musou Attack: Riding Mode + Circle: Causes horse to sprint by consuming Musou instead of stamina.
Dismount Horse: Riding Mode + X: Dismounts from horse and resumes default fighting stance.
Bow Maneuvers
Shooting Mode: 🡻: Pulls out bow and assumes archery stance. Can be cancelled by tapping 🡻 again.
