Ruin

From Koei Tecmo Wiki

Ruin (ルイン) is a discontinued adventure game that was being produced by Kou Shibusawa. It was pitched to computer gaming magazines in Japan in late 1983, stating that it was scheduled to be available in stores April the following year. However, not too soon afterwards, production for the game was abruptly stopped.

According to the magazine advertisement, Ruin was going to feature a young protagonist who joined an expedition of a Mayan pyramid. His/her father went with a party of archaeologists a week earlier, but they have not returned to camp. The protagonist and one other person enter the pyramid's inner dwellings to search for him. Screenshots depict that the game was going to be played from a first person perspective, implying that it was intended to be a quasi action-horror title.

Years later, Shibusawa appeared in an episode of Game Master CX and mentioned the game. He said the graphical data was getting too extensive to continue production and thus lead to it being dropped. It's not known whether the title will be revived in the near future.
