Mie Sonozaki

From Koei Tecmo Wiki

Mie Sonozaki is a freelance Japanese voice actor and singer with partial ties to Remax. She has been part of the dubbing industry since 1994. She got married on November 8, 2008, but ended up divorcing after four and a half years.

When Sonozaki was young, she was taught classical ballet by her mother who worked as a ballerina instructor. This influenced her to join the drama club in high school and later enroll in Haikyo Theater School after finishing junior college. After graduating from the program in March 1994, she focused on stage-related sound work while appearing in live-action dramas as an extra.

Sonozaki's transfer to TAB Production in 1996 is where her voice acting career truly began. She spent the next three years accumulating roles under the agency before moving to Remax in April 1999. Around that time, she changed the spelling of her stage name from hiragana to kanji for personal reasons. March 31, 2019 saw her make another career-impacting change; rather than renew her contract with Remax, she opted to form a business agreement with them in a bid to work freelance.

Despite her more versatile range, Sonozaki tends to portray older female characters who may come across as stoic, tomboyish, or passionate, though she can play younger women just as well. She is also a skillful singer, having performed image songs for some of her more recent roles. Fans recognize her as the voice of Nana Shimura in My Hero Academia, Carmilla in the Castlevania anime series, and Kurenai Kōgetsu in Edens Zero. She also serves as the official dub voice for Hayley Atwell, Elisha Cuthbert, Kirsten Dunst, etc.
