Maria Kawamura

From Koei Tecmo Wiki

Maria Kawamura is a Japanese actor, voice actor, and singer. Formerly affiliated with Arts Vision, she is currently working freelance. She is married to manga artist Mamoru Nagano since 1991.

During her time in junior high, Kawamura became entranced with theater after the literature club she belonged to had merged with the drama club due to insufficient members. She later attended an acting school owned by Toei and was taught the skills needed to perform. At the same time, she took on various side jobs to support herself.

Kawamura found her big break when a friend who worked for a publishing company arranged an interview between her and anime director Yoshiyuki Tomino. She enjoyed her interview with him and was delighted when Sunrise Studio invited her to audition for a role in Aura Battler Dunbine. This set her on the path to becoming a prolific voice actor. Being an anime fan herself, she is known to cosplay in public events.

Kawamura's sultry voice is well-suited for mature roles, though she has been known to play more comedic characters from time to time. A few of her roles include Elza in Gall Force: Eternal Story, Tanya Mousekewitz in An American Tail, and Freya in the Valkyrie Profile series.
