Special Attacks
Musou Attack: : Liu Shan performs Lightning Wave as their ground Musou attack.
Counter Attack: Counter + L1 + : Quickly swats away an enemy's attack, causing them to stagger briefly.
Assist Attack: Counter + L1 or R1: Liu Shan performs the fourth charge attack to assist a teammate while surrounded within an updraft of wind for extra coverage.
Grounded Type Action: R1: Liu Shan turns around with his rapier planted down on the ground and nods via sighing, turning himself invincible for 5 seconds on top of HP regen. Although this effect grants him invulnerability against attacks, it can damage foes with certain weapon attributes applied provided that they come into physical contact with him as he executes the move.
Midair Type Action: R1: Delays in midair for a bit before diving down and thrusting the ground hard. Upon impacting the earth, bolts of lightning come down and split into two diverging directions away from Liu Shan's position.
Spirit Charge: Attack + : Does a hovering thrust attack to break the enemy's guard. Consumes a portion of Musou when executed.
Normal Strategy Card: Panda-monium (熊猫招来; lit. "Panda Invitation"): Summons a panda to gradually restore the current officer's health.
Golden Strategy Card: Daily Peace (日々の安寧; lit. "Everyday Tranquility"): Lowers current officer's defense while gradually replenishing their health. Can be risky to use in higher difficulty duels.

Aerial Musou Attack - Avian Strike (鳥襲腿; lit. "Bird Assault Thigh"): : Leisurely jumps on top of nearby enemies four times before backflipping onto the ground to produce a wide shockwave that sends remaining foes flying away. If any of the jumps fail to hit an enemy, Liu Shan will simply emit a smaller shockwave upon landing.
Rage Attack: Launches twirling slashes aimed upward repeatedly, then finishes up the attack with a full radius spin swipe that releases a burst of energy knocking away nearby opponents.
True Rage Attack: If Liu Shan accumulates 100 or more hits during his Rage attack, he will change his attack pattern by striking diagonally with fiery swipes before unleashing two stationary roundhouse kicks near the end of the cycle.

Musou Attack - Wild Splitter (薙裂; lit. "Mowing Rend"): : Performs a melee attack consisting of one rotating swing, two circular strikes, and a fierce horizontal swipe. Each hit is done counterclockwise while emanating trails of green-colored wind.
Alternate Musou Attack - Intense Pressure (天舞刺裂法; lit. "Heaven Dance Thorn Rending Law"): R1 + : Liu Shan hits a nearby target, pins them on the ground, and lies down on top of them. Surrounding opponents are knocked aside from the shockwave emitted by the last two sequences of this attack. Cannot be guarded against.
Aerial Musou Attack - Impact Shockwave (天堕衝波; lit. "Heaven Crash Piercing Wave"): : Liu Shan tumbles in the air before dynamically placing his bench on the ground and sitting on it, with the landing impact sweeping foes off their feet.
Rage Attack: Rams towards the opponent and smacks them with overhead swings repeatedly, ending the assault with one final swipe to generate a powerful shockwave that sends foes flying.
True Rage Attack: If Liu Shan accumulates over 100 hits during a Rage attack, he will instantly pick up the pace by unleashing more arcing swing done vertically and diagonally in alternating order. Near the end of the cycle, he launches a few horizontal swipes to serve as the interlude for the default finisher.

Strong Attack 2 - Shaking Thunder Linked Slash (殷雷連斬; lit. "Flourish Thunder Chain Slash"): Delivers several jabs followed by a more forceful thrust. Has a cooldown time of 12 seconds.
Strong Attack 3 - Flying Thunder Destruction (飛雷滅; lit. "Flying Thunder Perish"): Performs a spin slash while moving forward slightly. Quickly disperses surrounding enemies. Has a cooldown time of 20 seconds.
Strong Attack 4 - Lightning Stream Tremor (雷流震; lit. "Thunder Flow Quake"): Launches a lightning-infused swipe that replenishes 30 Musou points, making it useful for players who rely more on building up their Musou gauge in battle. Has a cooldown time of 20 seconds.

Musou Attack: : Liu Shan performs Wild Splitter as their ground Musou attack.
Normal Magic: R1 + : Summons Gullinbursti to conjure five homing fireballs following the user. Instantly rains down on nearby foes, burning them alive. Can also affect downed foes. Note that its disappearance can cancel out trap-based attacks used by characters like Fa Zheng, Dong Zhuo, Motochika, etc. Therefore, it may be best to use this magic as a standalone attack.
Charge Magic: R1 + : Commands Gullinbursti to attack foes. Tapping causes it to hit foes directly. makes it charge fiercely for several seconds while leaving behind trails of fire. causes Gullinbursti to do a lunging attack before ending its rampage. It should be noted that using this magic with certain characters during multiplayer battles may cause the game itself to crash.
Unique Magic: R1 + : Liu Shan takes a rest on his bench while three clones of Gullinbursti race around him in circles thrice, violently ramming enemies that impede their path.

Unique Trigger Attack: R1 + : Thrusts at the enemy twice to knock them down, though only the second hit has that effect. Charging this move will add an electric current effect, though it is purely cosmetic and will not imbue each hit with the lightning attribute. The motion itself is taken from the rapier moveset's fifth charge/C5 in older games.
Special Technique: R1 + : Liu Shan does a lightning-infused circular slash that leaves him facing the rear before making an about-face to resume his default fighting stance. Based on his first EX attack (C3-EX) from previous titles, with the same name in the Japanese script (秘伝・雷皇刃; lit. "Mystery: Thunder Emperor Blade").
Musou Attack: : Lands several vertical slashing motions back and forth while sidestepping forward. Liu Shan finishes the attack by unleashing a pillar of lightning moving at a considerable distance, leaving crumbling dirt and fissures in its wake. Takes cues from his Lightning Wave Musou attack in previous games.
Aerial Musou Attack: : Performs a diving thrust that causes lightning bolts to erupt from the ground, sending foes airborne. Before Liu Shan's victims can fall on the ground, they are sent flying away when he does a lightning-infused circular slash that leaves him facing the other direction. The last motion is a nod to his original rapier-based EX attack from past games.
Horse Maneuvers
Summon Horse: L2: Summon horse to the battlefield. Holding L2 as the horse approaches will allow the character to automatically mount them.
Auto-Run: Riding Mode + L2: Automatically runs towards a specified destination. If a destination has not been set, the horse will instead run towards the location of the player's currently selected mission.
Sprint: Riding Mode + Direction + R1: Causes horse to run at a faster pace. Doing so depletes their stamina each time.
Jump: Riding Mode + Direction + R2: Causes horse to jump high while running.
Horse Fast Attack: Riding Mode + : Performs a fast and seamless attack while mounted. The attack itself varies depending on what type of weapon is equipped and whether the enemy is grounded or airborne.
