Kotono Mitsuishi is a freelance Japanese voice actor. She is married and has one daughter.
Having spent 25 years living in Nagareyama, Chiba, Mitsuishi attended Katsuta Voice Actor's Academy while working part-time as an elevator girl at the Sunshine 60 skyscraper. She later supported herself as an office lady, but was forced to quit after taking too much time off.
Mitsuishi took up voice acting as a profession due to her growing interest in radio drama at the time. She thought about becoming a childcare worker, but decided against it because of the country's declining birth rate.
Mitsuishi's vocal pitch is versatile enough to let her play a wide range of roles. Being a veteran within the dubbing industry, younger voice actors look up to her as a big sister figure. Some of the characters voiced by her include titular protagonist in Sailor Moon, Juri Arisugawa in Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Katherine McBride in Catherine.
