Hisakiyo Akana (赤穴 久清, Akana Hisakiyo) was a vassal of Amago Tsunehisa and Amago Haruhisa during Sengoku period. He held the title of Suruga no Kami (駿河守)

Role in Games

He was a veteran warlord in Nobunaga's Ambition : Sphere of Influence.

He have a role in the first battle at Gassantoda in Chikai no Sanshi. With his duty to suppress Watanabe Kayō and chase after Motonari's army.

Historical Information

Akana Hisakiyo (1471 - February 18, 1553). His childhood name was Zentarō (善太郎) and was also called Kaga Hōshi (加賀法師). Originally, the Izumo Province was ruled by Kyōgoku clan, Hisakiyo so decided to serve Amago Tsunehisa and opened the way for the Amago army to take over Izumo. He was last recorded was took part in the first battle at Gassantoda and he died at the age 82. His grandson, Akana Morikiyo was succeed lead the clan.

Etymology

  • The name Hisakiyo means "long time" (久) (hisa) and "clear, pure, clean" (清) (kiyo).
  • Hisakiyo's surname Akana means "red" (赤) (aka) and "hole, pit, mine, opening, cavity, orifice, burrow, cave/concave, breach, ass, lair, mesh, break, cavern, buttock, arse" (穴) (na).
