Fumiko Orikasa

From Koei Tecmo Wiki

Fumiko Orikasa is a Japanese voice actor and singer.

As the youngest of two sisters, Orikasa lived an active school life. She was the keyboardist for the light music club and vice president of the student council. Despite her involvement in extracurricular activities, she had little interest in attending college after seeing her own mother single-handedly raising two daughters by herself. She wanted to pursue a career as an electric organ player, but decided that another type of expression separate from music suited her more.

She found that expression in the form of an audition held by the theatrical company Super Eccentric Theater. To better understand her growing obsession with it, she attended their audition and passed, becoming a student of their training center. She graduated from the company's program with flying colors and worked with them for 3 years.

After leaving the company to search for something more challenging, the inexperienced Orikasa worked part-time to support herself while living in a cramped apartment that had no bathroom. She eventually made her claim to fame in 1999 by entering the field of voice acting. She has since gained numerous roles over the years and even started a singing career under Geneon Entertainment.

Because of her soprano range, Orikasa tends to voice young female characters who act demure, soft-spoken, or exuberant. She is famous among fans for performing a wide variety of image songs for several works. Some of her roles include Rukia Kuchiki in Bleach, Rumiko Chie in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, and Cecille in Luminous Arc.
