Ai Kakuma is a Japanese voice actor. Having joined her agency's training school since 2011, she gradually became a full-fledged member on April 2013. When Kakuma was a 6th grader, she was entranced by Satsuki Yukino's vocal performance as Kagome Higurashi in Inuyasha. While the show inspired the young girl to follow in her idol's footsteps, Kakuma did not want to burden her family out of consideration for their financial status. Thus, she worked as an office lady for four years after high school, saving enough money to pay for voice acting lessons.
Kakuma's first stint as a voice actor involved playing background roles and participating in multiple radio programs, eventually making a name for herself over time. While many of her character portrayals tend to be cute and adorable, some of them are notably more reserved or hard-edged. Her roles include Yuri Sakazaki in The King of Fighters XIV, Machi Kuragi in the 2019 Fruits Basket anime adaptation, and Rosaria in Genshin Impact.
