Kanako Sakai is a freelance Japanese voice actor, singer, and motion capture actor.
During her 4th year of grade school, Sakai came to enjoy acting after being invited to participate in the theater club by her best friend at the time. Upon entering junior high, she became aware of voice acting through anime which further spurred her desire to one day become a famous actor in various fields. She eventually dropped out of high school to pursue acting early on.
Sakai eventually earned her big break in 2006. Not only did she manage to accumulate a number of main roles in the anime industry, she has also been involved in the production and direction of stage plays. She had also been a part of the voice actor unit NanaKana alongside her senior Nana Inoue, with the two of them living together for two years until Sakai's departure from RAMS. She is also a fan of rock musician Kenji Ohtsuki.
Many of Sakai's performances comprise of adorable female characters. Some of the roles she has done throughout the years include Kikuri in Hell Girl, Kaiya in Jewelpet, and Akari in Miracle Train: Ōedo-sen e Yōkoso.
