Kisho Taniyama is a Japanese voice actor. Having developed an interest in dub work thanks to anime, he took up vocal training and made his big break as Takayuki Narumi in Kimi ga Nozomu Eien.
Also a proficient singer with experience in bands, Taniyama and Masaaki Iizuka formed a music partnership that resulted in a two-man music unit called GRANRODEO. Under the stage name "Kishow", he serves as the group's lyricist and lead vocalist. He also received an award for best musical performance at the 6th Seiyu Awards.
Taniyama jokingly calls himself the fastest voice actor alive due to his excellent running record since middle school. He was formerly a smoker before quitting in 2014.
While Taniyama is often plays handsome male roles with finesse, he has also done eccentric character archetypes at times. A few of his roles include Gunji in Togainu no Chi, Tatsuya Himuro in Kuroko's Basketball, and Stiyl Magnus in Toaru Majutsu no Index. He is also the official Japanese voice for Fred Jones in the Scooby-Doo series.
