KENN is a Japanese actor, voice actor, and singer. He originally wanted to use the stage monikers Issei or KEN, but decided to add another N for the latter to distinguish himself from other artists using the same name.
Having been raised in a strict household, KENN was not allowed to watch anime. However, he did get to participate in his school choir and play the trumpet. He became interested at the possibility of doing voice acting for living, but was hesitant to do so until dropping out of high school. While working part-time to support himself, he enrolled at Tokyo Jiyū Gakuen and later became a band member of The NaB's. When the band disbanded in October 2006, he pursued a solo career which included performing voice-over roles.
Though KENN gained more recognition as a voice actor throughout the years, he has expressed an interest in evenly balancing his voice acting, TV acting, and singing activities. During his time with The NaB's, he was able to assume the role of both vocalist and keyboard player, displaying a strong affinity for music. He is also a skilled cook, being known for his Salisbury steak stew and sandwiches.
KENN started off voicing energetic male characters during the early part of his voice acting career, but has since included more mature roles to his repertoire. He has lent his vocal performances to Urianger Augurelt in Final Fantasy XIV, Phinks Magcub in Hunter x Hunter, and Karl in Dragalia Lost.
