Claude von Riegan (クロード・フォン・リーガン) is a playable character in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. He first appeared in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, where he is playable on the Golden Deer (Verdant Wind) route and also in the Cindered Shadows DLC. He also has appeared in the Heroes mobile game.

Role in Game

The Golden Wildfire route, after the campaign against the bandits, his first actions are to deal with an uprising being led by his older brother, Shahid.

Character Information

Though Claude is legitimately the future leader of the Leicester Alliance in the northeast of Fódlan – which places him at the head of their Officer's Academy House, the Golden Deer – his true identity is as Khalid, crown prince of Almyra, a warrior nation to the east of Fódlan that has at times been at odds with Fódlan.

Personality

On the surface, Claude is easygoing to the point of being lazy and casual, but he is a skilled strategist who is so astute and cunning that others including allies have to keep their guard up around him.

He tends to get along with those he interacts with, but his nonchalant attitude to his duties as heir to the Leicester Alliance seems at odds with each other and sometimes frustrates his fellow nobility classmates, especially fellow Golden Deer Lorenz Hellman Gloucester. However, it makes him more approachable to others and he still has a wealth of knowledge of the Alliance's current state of affairs and enough diplomatic sense to understand the ramifications of certain potential actions of the Alliance against Almyra, his native country. He also believes nobility should not get in the way of friendship or romance, with his views being shaped by his mother Tiana, a Leicester heir, leaving Fódlan to marry the king of Almyra, and by the Golden Deer having more commoners than the Black Eagles and the Blue Lions.

He cares greatly for those under his command, valuing their lives and advising them to retreat rather than fight to the death. He abhors killing, only doing so if completely necessary; his tactics generally rely on incapacitating the enemy.

He also dislikes blind faith in gods and prefers to rely on the strength of men. However, he believes in valuing nature and enjoys archery, long rides, subjects of curiosity, poetry, scheming and organizing feasts. He dreams of ending Fódlan's isolation and opening it up to the outside world.

Gameplay

Claude is unique in that he is a Lord who has a bow as his primary weapon and in that he can also wield it while riding a wyvern, with wyvern riding considered to be a rite of passage in Almyra.
