Ryuken is a supporting character in Fist of the North Star. Years ago, he fought his rival, Koryu for the right to be successor of Hokuto Shinken. When Jukei's power spiraled out of control from Hokuto Ryuken's demonic abilities, Ryuken fought him in a hard fight and freed him from its influence.
Upon meeting Raoh and Toki for the first time, he knocked them off a cliff and would only agree to train one to be his successor, as Ryuken himself did not sire any children. However, Raoh climbed back up with Toki and insisted he train them both.
He then took on a third student, Jagi who wanted to use the style for his own personal gain, and eventually a fourth, Kenshiro. After the nuclear apocalypse, Ryuken decided to name Kenshiro his successor. When Raoh wanted to use the fighting style to rule the heavens, the old master tried to cripple him, but his illness got the better of him, allowing Raoh to kill him.
Dream Mode
While not fought in gameplay directly, Ryuken holds a competition between the Hokuto and Nanto masters before the nuclear holocaust.
