Soichiro Hoshi is a Japanese voice actor. Active since 1993, he has been awarded twice in the Anime Grand Prix for his roles. Hoshi was motivated to take up voice acting after watching Kappei Yamaguchi's performance in Kiki's Delivery Service. He is close friends with fellow voice actor Akira Sasanuma.
When it comes to voice overs, Hoshi generally lends his vocals to timid or upbeat characters. He is also good at pulling off convincingly hot-blooded performances. Some of his roles include Mohammad Alai Jr. in Baki the Grappler, Rygart Arrow in Broken Blade, and Makoto Isshiki in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!.
He and Shigeru Nakahara shared a cake to celebrate their one hundredth appearance at Neoromance live events.
