Iamarl (イアマール) is a fictional character featured in Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War. She is an assassin who was initially contracted to kill Edward. However, due to unknown circumstances, she failed. Instead of facing execution for her attempt, she is hired to become his bodyguard.

Role in Game

The player first encounters her while trying to guard the Duke of Lancaster. A group of assassins try to assassinate the Duke before he can meet up with the player, but they are foiled by Iamarl. During the game she is also charged with keeping Henry Percy in check.

In the battle of Troyes, her former assassin compatriots try to attack Edward to send her a message. They do not succeed but it ultimately drives her to recklessly pursue them in retaliation.

Bladestorm: Nightmare

In Bladestorm: Nightmare, Iamarl appears alongside Gilles de Rais and La Hire as reinforcements for Hal's group in Aquitaine. Should the player save her from a doppelganger of Edward, she will join their cause and provide additional aid in their excursion to Flanders by causing chaos within the enemy ranks.

She dies fighting the monsters in Champagne, pleading Henry to watch over the prince in her stead. If every other character has been recruited, Iamarl's spirit will appear in the second gate of Castellum Sepulchrum. Affirming her faith in the player's capabilities, she asks them to end the nightmare once and for all.

Personality

Iamarl is quietly shrewd and a woman of few words. She follows orders without question, however she does have a little bit of a rebellious streak when she feels wronged. Iamarl believes that the only option is success, and feels a large amount of guilt whenever she fails at her duties.
